James Welsh continues his run of exemplary club singles on Phantasy with another powerful and uncompromising two-track release, Sitting/Rubber Dog. The record follows D974, which earned support from DJs including Laurent Garnier, Charlotte de Witte and Luke Slater.

Sitting enforces precision rhythm with a rolling, dystopian bass line alongside a hypnotic and memorable vocal sample. As the tension increases, the track’s clinical feel is unexpectedly flipped on its own head, blossoming into an intoxicating and emotive synth melody.

Meanwhile, Rubber Dog stays true to its absurdist title, as Welsh dials his analogue assistance to a head-spinning maximum, pulping out an unwieldy jam that blends industrial and electro influences to riveting and darkly psychedelic effect.

After dropping his first solo release at the end of 2019, Naranja (@naranjafrom) is back with his second EP. And this time, he embraces even more the italo-disco and EBM influences that were showing through his first project. The a-side features some dark and kicked italo-disco riffs, acid basslines and deep layered synths melodies, where the b-side explores broader sounds, from rave inspired synths to unrestrained braindance beats. In this second effort, Naranja offers to dive in a musical journey, drifting between melancholic synths, 80s inspired basslines, deep FM pads and energetic drum beats.

The idea behind the challenge being to set yourself limitations as a producer - be that time, or only using certain software/equipment - and to finish the arrangement completely.

The amount of stellar remixes we received was astounding and hence we've arrived at this point, a compilation of all those amazing remixes being released on the label with all profits going to NHS Charities Together.
