You Cant Relate To This At All

Many years ago, shortly after sunset my fathers brother Stan (aged 20) climbed aboard an aircraft along with 4 other young men. After taking off they effectively vanished into the night sky, with no trace of the aircraft or its crew ever found. This piece is dedicated to Stan and all of the young men, of all nationalities, whose lives have been cut short by war.

Numbness & Revelation

A few years ago, I played in a quartet with three really cool guys; instruments were two guitars, a bass or (sometimes) stand-up bass, and me on violin.  We had influences from the leader's Czech roots (he's on guitar), and the rhythm guitarist's love of Cuban and classical Spanish styles (he played percussion as well).  I attempted to keep up with them, and though I did get yelled at in Czech quite a bit, at least I got a translation (usually "youuuu can dooo BETTTT-AIRRRRR!!!!!")! 

It was a lot of fun, and great practice!
