In May, halle o’malley, a producer who’s released on Vief a bunch of times by now, got in touch with an idea. She’d come across the Instagram of a 17-year-old Palestinian musician called Samih, who’s life has been torn apart by Israel's recent onslaught on the Gaza strip. Their home destroyed, Samih and his family were forced to flee to a refugee camp in Rafah. A Middle East Monitor article from June stated that him and his family have been displaced 5 times since 7th October. During their displacement, Samih has gone viral posting videos of himself singing and playing a borrowed oud, an instrument that loosely resembles a guitar.

Having spoken to Samih and received his blessing, Halle planned to sample a video of his and donate the proceeds from the sales of that track to a GoFundMe set up for him and his family. Halle approached the label with the idea of scaling this project up by inviting other producers to sample Samih themselves or provide original tracks of their own.

Madhoun now stands as a compilation containing four productions sampling Samih, an interlude, and nine other dance tracks generously donated by producers from across the world.

Written and produced by Alex Silvi (Alien Signal) throughout the years of 1993-1994. ‘North Polar Stars’, ‘Brilliant Evening Planets’ and ‘Violent Volcanoes of Io’ originally released on album ‘Celestial Sights of the Future’ from Upland Recordings in 1993. ‘Quantum Limit’ was originally released on album ‘The Search Begins’ also on Upland Recordings in 1993, whereas ‘Atomic (Esoteric Mix)’ was a self-release from 1994.
These tracks are responsible for a huge impression on Dream Software and the sound of the label, so it is with great honour we reissue these tracks and release them back into the outersphere. The soundtrack to a retrofuturist world gleaming with optimism. A world where humanity, technology and nature exist in a peaceful symbiosis. A real utopia. We thank you Alex for your inspirational music.

The Aquarium V/A Vol. i features 15 tracks spanning the entire scope of this amphibious dancefloor. The compilation surges through a journey into the minds and waves of 17 producers, navigating an underwater sound consistent in its diversity. From the wobbling pulse of Big Leg’s Jelly Dub Luv (ft. RexL) to COLA REN’s dreamy seabed roll, the filmic nostalgia of eoin DJ’s Things In Life, and the more danceable sound of E-Talking’s Être un autre ohm, each track is a love letter to every corner of the Aquarium’s deep blue.

The selection is curated by the team behind Fandango, and will be donating all profits to the marine conservation charity Blue Ventures. The charity was chosen to contribute back to marine life without which sounds and swells of aquatic bass could not exist. Blue Ventures works with small-scale local cultures and economies to support their natural ecosystems, ensuring a fair distribution of resources.

AXT is a Ukrainian DJ and sound producer temporarily based in Berlin, DE. She is a co-founder of Motsion, a Ukrainian multidisciplinary collective focusing on audio and visual performances. AXT began her music career in 2015. Since then, her sonic exploration of emotionally saturated bass music, glossy experimental, and dusty drum and bass has left its mark on various venues, including ∄ in Kyiv, Ankali and Fuchs2 in Prague, Arkaoda in Istanbul, Silent Green in Berlin, and Kaserne in Basel.

La Residencia is a project connecting Barcelona and Lyon — Lyon, where host @thereseha  first touched the decks, and Barcelona, where she’s based.
Through this residency, she highlights artists in Spain, immersing you in their sonic world before moving on to hers.

The guest of this month is Dulce, a Colombian artist based in Barcelona, blending the rhythms of her childhood—from Bogotá’s chaos to the Caribbean tumbao. Formerly a resident and curator at Videoclub in Bogota, she now builds bridges between her community and diverse projects, collaborating with labels, radios, and collectives like TraTraTrax or Mutant Radio Tbilisi. She currently holds a residency -Interludio- on Radio Relativa Madrid. With a close and personal approach, Dulce highlights Latin American talent and connects the LATAM scene with new sounds. 
Her latest project, PROXIMA, expands into art direction and curatorship, creating space for audiovisual artists and interdisciplinary collaborations.
