Biography:
Fractal Lids a.k.a. Daniel Jimenez is a Psytrance DJ and Producer from Barcelona. He grew up listening to all kinds of music thank to his parents and brother from whom he obtained a background in Jazz, Blues, Rock and Electronic, among other genres. It was precisely his brother that introduced him to bands such as Aphex Twin, Leftfield, The KLF, Orbital, Sabres of Paradise, The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, and so on. From then, he started going to electronic parties and raves around Barcelona still looking for that beat he believed had to exist, "the perfect beat".

It was not until he was 17 (2006) that he would not discover Psychedelic and Goa Trance music when he came across with a (the) couple of albums, Electric Universe - Cosmic Experience and Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy. Those albums changed everything, taking the concept of electronic music for him to a whole higher level. Then, he started digging further into the style and found not only the perfect music but also an incredible culture of respect, unity, sustainability, environmental awareness and love for all living beings. The connection was total and immediate. His first psychedelic gathering took place that very same year at the Existence Festival in Barcelona where he could see bands such as Astral Projection, Astrix, Chromosome, Dali, Echotek, Hypnoxock, Oforia, Painkiller and many others. Ever since, he has been actively involved in the psy scene all around the globe and everywhere he has lived in. He has been to festivals such as Ozora, Boom, Freedom, Insomnia, Psy-fi, Sonica, Connection, Own Spirit, among others, and many parties and events in Spain, Portugal, UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, Slovenia and Morocco. 

In 2012, he started producing music as a hobby under the name of Mental Notes and in 2017 he started his current project Fractal Lids. His music varies from psychedelic emotional uplifting trance (Full-On, Progressive, etc.) to more serious and deeper Psytrance and even to some moments of Dark Full-On and Twilight, allowing him to create sets for both daytime and night-time. He also does not forget about old-school since is extremely grateful to bands such as 1200 Micrograms, Alien Project, Ananda Shake, Astral Projection, Astrix, Cosmosis, Chromosome, Electric Universe, Electro Sun, Eskimo, Exaile, Indra, Infected Mushroom, Juno Reactor, Man With No Name, Oforia, SUN Project, Shanti, Sirius Isness, Talamasca, Wizzy Noise and Xerox & Illumination (to name some) to help him fall in love with the music of his dreams. 

So far, Fractal Lids has played in several events between 2017 and 2018 alone, from festivals such as Munay, Aura and Galipsy, to open-air parties collaborating with Ravespirit, GloOm Music, Goa Trip, among others, and indoor parties organized by Bassground BCN and World Psytrance Kolective. His recent and rapid success has given him the opportunity to become a member of the Bassground BCN collective where he is currently involved.
