Trying to pigeonhole this man is about as difficult as it would be to actually fit him into a pigeon sized hole. As soon as we heard his track on the amazing Scotland VA from the big dons over at Midnight Bass, it was clear that this dude was not worrying about which subgenre his music fitted into. He makes good music, plain and simple, and this is something we have always tried to champion at Mercurial. His understanding of mood, tone and energy cannot be overstated. These are all incredibly hard things to quantify, but are often what takes an artist to the next level, and OHARE seems to have them on lock. Whether it’s on Resonate, with its aggressive low-end and ethereal highs, or Rough Up, a true homage to the frenetic, choppy jungle of yesteryear, or the completely infectious Do It Like, begging you to find a dancefloor and bust some shapes, OHARE’s style and sound is instantly recognisable, and never fails to impress. We’re expecting huge things from this donny, and we’re so gassed to be bringing you his Mercurial debut!
