‘Yang’ is the latest solo endeavour from Reza Safinia, the Album draws on his deep interest in Eastern philosophy and his own spiritual practices to inspire a sound that marries the ethereal with a call to the dancefloor. This new album was written as the first global lockdowns were lifted. It follows on from Yin, which was composed at the start of the pandemic. Both albums reflect the energies of those different situations, and both were recorded at 432Hz - a tuning standard that is said to resonate with living beings and our chakras. The albums and their titles are inspired by the Chinese cosmology principle that everything consists of a balance of Yin and Yang. 
Yin is the pianos and strings, and Yang the electronic production elements. They have been conceived from meditation and a mindful presence in one's environment, with deep connections to humanity. Musically, the albums combine everything from electronica to downtempo, melodic house to techno. Importantly, Yang carries a sense of hope for human connection and lust for celebrating life.

Deciding to cement their partnership with the Far Distance moniker, the Spanish pair created a data stream between their homes in Bilbao and Barcelona with impressive results after a debut on their own label Rocked in 2014. Their collaboration with Stefan Addo titled "Worm Hole" in April 2021 marked the pair's first appearance on Perspectives. 
"Stardust" continues the melodic storytelling of its partner track "Hyperspace" as a running bassline and driving beat create a framework for a shimmering motif to filter in and out of sonic range. Evolving with ease, spine-tingling chord changes and club-friendly snare rolls create a powerful sonic force that is sure to find favor with leading A-list DJs across the summer festival circuit.

Now making their full EP debut on the imprint, "Hyperspace" opens with a chest-thumping kick and grooved bassline, while reverb-drenched synth lines and a glorious syncopated arpeggio give the aural impression of deep space. An earworm motif soon makes its presence felt as white noise effects and swirling soundscapes swim across the stereo spectrum with ease. Building to a powerful crescendo at the breakdown, the rhythmic foundation returns in the second half providing gravitas once more.

"Stardust" continues the melodic storytelling of its partner track as a running bassline and driving beat create a framework for a shimmering motif to filter in and out of sonic range. Rauschhaus needs little introduction to the underground dance faithful with his immaculate production credentials and 24-carat portfolio. Over a decade spent honing his sound, the German artist has 200+ credits to his name for some of the finest modern imprints that include Stil Vor Talent, Einmusika, Parquet Recordings, and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. A veteran of the club circuit in his Kiel hometown and beyond, Rauschhaus has been hosting his own nights in the city for several years, while performances behind the decks in Moscow, Johannesburg, and Zurich illustrate his wider global appeal.

Returning to Perspectives Digital after last year's outstanding remix of "Rome" by Juan Pablo Torrez, the Rauschhaus interpretation of "Hyperspace" is a sublime offering that revels in trademark melodic flair, as echoes of the Far Distance original resonate through the 7 minute piece. Before long, rippling new motifs from the Rauschhaus production arsenal cascade atop driving rhythmic force and simple offbeat percussion. 'With a mission statement to spread "full-energy progressive sounds to a global audience", SHAZZE is an artist with a culturally diverse background. From Indian roots and a life spent largely in the UK, his graduation from the London Sound Academy has subsequently seen him flourish with performances at London's Ministry of Sound and EGG LDN. Furthermore, a production career that began in early 2021 has quickly led to releases on Einmusika, BeatFreak, UV, and ICONYC. Making his Perspectives Digital debut in December 2022 with his his hit track "Lucy", SHAZZE returns to the label with a new single titled "No Time To Waste".

"No Time To Waste" is full of driving Melodic Techno character as a 16th note bassline and syncopated synth phrase add immediate urgency. Quickly hitting its stride via a smooth melodic lead and growling bass note, light vocal phrasing adds a further layer of intrigue and spine-tingling emotion. A superbly imagined breakdown creates a powerful zenith before melodic prowess and driving rhythmic force return in the second half to dynamic effect.

Regulars on Perspectives Digital over the past 2 years, Far Distance have made sizable waves with their Melodic Techno and Progressive House focused sound. Returning to the label with a two-track EP, the Spanish duo now present their new productions titled "Dangerous" and "Trance Mission".

A rising force in the underground dance scene, Far Distance have found themselves becoming in-demand producers with a slew of releases and Beatport Top 100 hits on the likes of Einmusika, Eleatics, and Dear Deer. Making their debut on Darin Epsilon's imprint in April 2021, the boys are back with a third original EP. "Dangerous" opens with a pounding beat and 16th note bass sequence that creates immediate dancefloor energy. Sizzling snare rolls and a sharp-edged synth motif soon enter the fray to powerful effect before a further metallic bassline adds a stuttered staccato feel in the second movement. A blissful breakdown of trance-infused arpeggio provides a filtered hands-in-the-air moment before a white-noise riser then drops back into the bassline-and-beat gravitas of earlier phrases. The ‘Realm Of Consciousness’ voyage commences with Tale Of Us’ Lies - a fitting introduction with
quivering keys and restrained percussion that engenders an ominous suspense ahead of Monoloc’s
enigmatic industrial techno crunch, Phoenix. Shifting through the haunting chords of Recondite’s dynamic
Murphy’s Law, to the brooding synth of Poseidon by Ukrainian duo Woo York, the realisation of Afterlife
utopia is upon us. The repetitive, mesmerising synth and effective reverb that Somne creates with Triangle
is an odyssey within itself. From there, John Hester’s expertly woven ‘Logan’ is a feverish techno stab that
transverses through the emotional senses, transitioning to Locked Groove’s adroitly crafted Emeralds, to
Ryan James Ford’s ambient, albeit percussive, techno cut Toree Bahrstad. Die Wiederkehr is the outcome
of Obscure Shape & SHDW’s collaboration, which incorporates facets of techno and trance that have
been shaped with real guile and finesse. Mind Against round off the compilation with Gravity - a
mystifying ambience and a fitting title as we touch back down to planet earth.

Stephan Bodzin: a classically trained musician, vastly experienced producer and master of melody. Contrary to traditional music labels, Mercurial Tones is about these experiences which are simultaneously fleeting and enduring, dislocating and connecting.  

The Mercurial Tones is about us; it is about the ceaseless battle that we fight with ourselves, creating this Mercurial cacophony. And it is about our story which will resonate throughout the universe, carving out a piece of art from this formless, anarchic background.
