Mercurial Tones - Releases

On March 7, 2020, Undo played for the last time before the pandemic forced stay-at-home-orders. It was an awesome party celebrating the ﬁrst anniversary of a Murcia’s collective called “Estrasburgo 1518". 
In that year, in Strasbourg, there was a dance epidemic, or dance plague, as it happened in other places and years in Europe during the Middle Age. Stories such as "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" or "The Red Shoes” emerge from these inexplicable but well-documented outbreaks of dance.
And from that story takes the title "The Red Shoes" opening the record. A mental track built on dislocated breaks and samples and made to dance fervently, like the heroine of the tale after putting on her red shoes.
“Estrasburgo 1518" also aspires to be part of the soundtrack of the dances to come. It’s a luminous, euphoric and hypnotic track. Ideal for choreographing the Saint Vitus dance.
Closing the Ep we ﬁnd “Epidemia de Baile” An acid-tinged track of rave and 90s nostalgia with old school beats and an epic pad.
We hope to see you soon dancing everywhere, on the dance-ﬂoors, on the rooftops, in the gardens or in the streets. In the meantime, stay safe.

After long hours listening to the almost 50 remixes received for our first Remix Contest, we finally chose the winners - and the songs are simply amazing, so our honest congratulations to Sensitive (IT), Alex Glenn, Madomo Planet, Decreto and Desthen.  Before entering the universe of each of them, we would like to thank Who Else, a prominent artist from the Argentine scene who agreed to give his beautiful “Karma” for the contest, a deep and melodic track with synths that give us goosebumps from head to toe.  Starting with the remix of Sensitive (IT) — by the name you can already imagine what is coming, right? It is a track that evokes feelings and creates a bridge to a true connection with your soul. It is therapeutic, with sweet harmony, which will release serotonin in your body and make you want to listen to it more and more.  Then we have the version of Alex Glenn, a guy who has been on the scene for over 15 years, but is relatively new to music production. It doesn't seem. Cold, euphoric and ghostly synths guide the atmosphere of the track that, without a doubt, would fit perfectly for any club's peak time.  Madomo Planet delivers a version with a taste of nostalgia. It seems that we went back in time in a few years and floated through a sea of clouds, a track that seems to be timeless thanks to its powerful rhythmic narrative.  Following the story, we receive Decreto's remix, who bet on a soundscape from another world. The melodic lines evolve over the first few minutes, the initial break is totally hypnotic and the drop radiates all the energy accumulated in it. There is also a second moment worthy of the end of an apocalypse movie. It is hope arising after chaos.  Finally, Desthen's remix brings new piano melodies combined with a reverberated, more spatial and futuristic groove, like a journey to the stars, ideal to feel your body floating in zero gravity. What a beautiful way to end this incredible remix EP!

Cadee makes his Factor City debut with three great original tracks driven with leftfield electronics and  followed by healthy remixes by Jackwasfaster and label honcho Undo.
Cadee is the project through which Diego Cadierno releases his more dancefloor oriented works. 
After more than five years exploring more “brain” fields (idm, breaks, electro...) with his alias Promising/Youngster, which allowed him to release in labels like Sin Hilo, Nebulae or Several Roots and play live all around Spain, Diego feels the need to go back to his more hedonist roots. This “Happiness” EP is the first released under this moniker. 
Opening the record we find “Besta”.  A very personal song with sinuous synth lines and filters. The percussions and vocals, along with the bass line drives a hypnotic and deep track. JackWasFaster remix is more raw, edgy and straight to the dance-floor, playing with the orginal synths and vocals, and adding what sounds like a distorted synthetic mouth harp.
The second track “Moving Circles” it's a playful and melodic song that captures the essence of Cadee’s approach, teasing the release with its floor-focussed sharp beats and synth stabs. 
Closing the Ep the tittle track “Happiness” it is a reflection on the happiness and responsibility of bringing a child into the world. A deep and wide tune with arpeggiated bass riffs, haunting vocals and vaporous guitars.
Undo strips down the original of its more Pop elements, vocals and guitars, and pays homage to the bass in his remix adding an hypnotic groove and mental synth lines.

Welcome to 2021: Darkroom Dubs crack open their 18th year with a warm welcome to two new members to the roster… Santiago producer Alejandro Paz and Berlin duo Local Suicide with ‘Directions’, complete with remixes from Undo, DJs Pareja and Velax.
Cold, cutting edge and boasting a full-spectrum of sounds, there’s a slight irony to dropping a release called ‘Directions’ when none of us know where the hell we’re going right now. But we sure as hell know what we’re listening to. And boy do we love it.
As proved on previous collaborations between the two acts on labels such as Nein and Aeon, Alejandro’s weighty production dynamics and Local Suicide’s purring noir soul complement each other to the very last transient. Part new romantic, part tech-no, all dancefloor; each track is a story just as much as it’s a song. ‘Directions’ cap-tures the frustrations and intensity of isolated life in the 21st century and ‘Splish Splash’ takes a provocative, playful stance with its acid house bass plunges and cosmic squiggles.

Through experiences, we tell our stories, shape our personalities, and build our perception of life.

We thus also become subject to sudden and unpredictable changes of moods and to whims and caprice of life. Like the planet Mercury, we split into two. Our one-half freezes in endless darkness, while the other half glitters with a perfect shade of orange under the rays of our one and only sun. We thus become the Mercurials.
