Die unbändige Freude an elektronischer Musik und der Drang nach künstlerischer Entfaltung stehen seit dem Sommer 2013 im Fokus des gemeinsamen Projektes "Langstrumpf & Tante Olsen" von Janis und Niklas. Hinter dem recht verspielten Namen verbirgt sich die flexible Komposition aus einem Jahrzehnt Schlagzeuger-Erfahrung und ästhetischem Kombinationsgefühl für passende elektronische Sequenzen. Daraus resultieren rhythmische Sets aus einem Percussion- und einem DJ-Element, die Live zusammengesetzt zu akustischen Reisen einladen. Insofern ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass die beiden Thüringer trotz ihrer relativ kurzen, gemeinsamen Schaffenszeit schon zu zahlreichen Gigs auf internationalen Bühnen und Events in der ganzen Republik zu erleben waren.

Das Bedürfnis, ihre Leidenschaft zur Musik mit Gleichgesinnten zu teilen, bildete darüber hinaus das Fundament für die Gründung einer neuen Szeneplattform im Süden Thüringens. Seit dem Winter 2012 verwirklichen sie so mit der Organisation des Vereins "Keep Yourself", seinem familiären Festival und weiteren naturverbundenen Veranstaltungen sowie zahlreichen anderen Kulturzweigen ihr Lebenswerk.

Der Durst nach neuen kreativen Herausforderungen in der Techno-Szene blieb jedoch nicht lange gestillt und aus neuen Freundschaften wurden bald Partnerschaften in einer internationalen gemeinsamen Sache, der "Causa Comune". Hinter dem italienischen Namen steht ein junges Veranstaltungsnetzwerk ohne festen Rahmen, dass je nach Gemüt Feten im Kleinen oder Großen, im Heimlichen oder Genehmigten und im Freien oder Überdachten kreiert. Im Anschluss an das Debüt im März 2016 in Innsbruck und einer Fortsetzung in der Thüringer Heimat stehen zunächst Orte in Berlin, Österreich und Spanien auf der Agenda...
...aber wer kann schon behaupten zu wissen, welche Wege Kreativität einschlägt?

Anjunadeep’s esteemed series returns this November with ‘Explorations 07’. A showcase of diverse talent from around the globe, the latest compilation features two Explorations alumni, Modd and Just Her, alongside two exciting label debutants in CRi and Marsh.

A pensive piano-led piece peppered with off-kilter percussion, Opening track ‘Road To San Vicente’ asserts Modd's reputation for emotive songwriting and nuanced production. On the next track, Canadian label debutant CRi makes a big entrance with his future anthem ‘Remember You’, a synth-centric dive into the deep end. Enveloping her own vocal in a lush minimalist arrangement, Just Her’s catchy track ‘Caught In The Crossfire’ gives way to the closing track ‘Black Mountain’, a tribal Anjunadeep debut for UK producer Marsh.

CRi - Remember You

Veerus makes his Drumcode debut, after an impressive contribution to Truesoul’s VA EP in 2017.

The Italian has built up an impressive discography over the last decade, dropping records on labels including Terminal M, Octopus, Filth on Acid and his own Le Club imprint. His collaborative with Maxie Devine ‘My Train’ was a highlight of Solomun’s classic Boiler Room in Tulum, which has clocked 37 million views. In late 2017 he linked up with Brits OC & Verde for the fantastic ‘Naaki’ that featured on Truesoul’s first Various Artists EP, ensuring he was an artist well and truly in Adam Beyer’s sights. 

His maiden outing for Drumcode mines 20 years of history, taking inspiration from classic trance and acid from the ‘90s, which he distils to create powerful modern techno works. ‘Hypnosis’ was a huge highlight of Beyer’s Awakenings show at Gashouder during ADE. It’s characterised by an engrossing call-and-response dynamic Veerus builds between the 303 acid warbles and the melodic stabs that run throughout. A track custom made for big moments.  ‘Apocalypse’, like its name, is more menacing. Veerus constructs the work to mimic the dramatic theatre of a gladiatorial scene in a film, as heart-fluttering chord progressions, a piercing synth line and dystopian melody mark this memorable track.

Hello friends! 

It has now officially been one year since the beginning of the quarantine and its hard to believe that we still have lockdown in so many places. I hope everyone is keeping safe and well, and that soon we will have full freedom once again. 

With the cold months of February here in Canada we had a perfect opportunity to record and film a set over frozen Lake Ontario near downtown Toronto. I've decided to pick out the best recently released and unreleased tunes from myself and others - all amazing tracks, to celebrate this very special quarantine anniversary. 

Special thank you to LVSH MEDIA, and @AlbertKay for directing & producing the video.
