Years after his last release, spending much time to recreate and improve his creative toolset, Cord is back with a new dose of beats.
His story began in the 2000s with taking part of the breakbeat scene, using his unique sound with granular effects, vocals and bass. Much later his interest was turned towards glitch influenced genres, resulting in an EP in 2005. Then he decided to improve his music process, to achieve a more colorful sound, resulting in the four tracks of Maktub.

Sati (Sanskrit: सती / satī) is derived from the name of the goddess Sati, it is a historical practice. The track utilizes a triplet driven base around a solid bass, fitting in a brooding and dark atmosphere, filled with twisted sounds and a speech describing daily mental practice.

Maktub contains more melodic contents, a fusion of different influences. Between sampled instrumental elements, arps and synth lines create a colorful balance to drive the listener to a cordial place somewhere in the middle east.

Songbeam is a collaboration with UK midtempo producer Tryptich. It combines melancholic atmospheres and textures with driving beats and bass to create an emotive, yet funky journey.

Rainfall transforms a beautifully sad Hungarian folk song into a seven minute long psychedelic glitch-trip. With the use of vocals from Éva Takács folk singer, the track’s ending with the unedited song elements is the perfect closing for the EP.

I'm finally sharing original music with the world
For me this is a huge step, mainly in the sense of learning about myself and the world through the production process
⊹ Observing the chaotic, (sometimes) complex, beautiful and fascinating movement between the heart and the mind
⊹ Learning about releasing perfectionism knowing that the path is the true pleasure
⊹ The work is complete, it is complete and correct for this moment, for this phase of my life, and for all those who will listen and meet me and themselves through my favorite language of all
⊹ The beauty of asking for help (from good and talented women at indescribable levels) and winning amazing collaborations for which I thank you with all my heart.

  ⁛ About the track ⁛ A merge between the feminine & the masculine realms ⁛
In recent years I have been super influenced by musical worlds originating in the amazing UK.
I find inspiration in jungle, drum & bass, dark garage and breakcore - from there I built the whole track on beats with these (the masculine) influences
The dream that did come to reality in a phenomenal way - was to combine a live, soft, caressing, deep and mesmerizing instrument (violin - the feminine)
Spiced up with melodies I wrote inspired by the great mystery and plenty of atmospheres and sounds that will add to the psychedelic, immersive and interesting ambience.

<3 <3 <3 Vårt første forsøk på elektronisk folkemusikk, i scifi-psytrance tradisjon <3 <3 <3 Med bidrag fra elever og foredragsholdere på folkemusikk linjene på Rauland. Det er en EP med fire spor, Mastret av Mark Day (Muimina Sounds).
Spor 1 er ett samarbeids prosjekt, og låten heter Bonde Etter Berit på Pynten, med seks medelever som studerer folkemusikk på Rauland, Maria Vaaje, Ulf Kjellemyr, Ingrid Stamland, Joan Gatti, Vilde Westeng & Gunhild Førland.
Spor 2 heter Uppstaden og inkluderer ett opptak av prominente Gaute Søderholm på ukulele.
Spor 3 har jeg gitt navnet, Reinlender med Rauland Folkemusikk Tjueto, det er en versjon av reinlender etter Hans Hansa fra Engerdal, med bortimot samtlige elever ved Rauland Folkemusikk studier, og inneholder blant annet munnspill fra selveste Anders Lillebo.
Spor 4 er Halling etter Olav Berge, Lars Erik Øygarden spiller fele i denne versjonen.

Miguel Toro aka Maktub is part of the Organika crew, producer of underground electronic music events in Cancun Riviera Maya Mexico, recently signed with the South African label Dense Nebula Records. 

Variable in his presentations, experimenting with different genres, creating his own style with powerful and unique sessions full of good tracks riddled with loops, playful melodies, heavy basses and psychedelic atmospheres that range from a fine Psytrance to a dark and swampy darkprogressive.
