Starting out when he was 18, Johnny Blue has been spinning at clubs throughout LA, as well as the Midwest. While living in LA, Johnny Blue played at venues such as, Bilboard Live, Gem Club and The Palace (Now Avalon).  Johnny Blue continued to follow his passion after moving to the Midwest.  With his ability to fuse different genres of music into well-blended sets, it gained him high notoriety as one of Milwaukee's most respected DJ's.  As a result of his success, Johnny Blue was voted Best Club DJ in the Shepherd Express, Milwaukee's nightlife source.  His mixes (under the alias of Johnny Blissco) have been featured on Sirius Satellite's Groove Radio International show with Sweedish Egil on 4.9.05 and 1.7.06 ('Would You Move It' Vol 1 & Vol 2).  He was also featured guest on Proton Radio's 'Mark Lewis Presents' show on 6.5.07.  Johnny Blue has opened up for acts such as Keoki, Max Graham, Mark Lewis, Deep Dish, John Aquaviva, Dave Aude, Eric Morillo and many more.  Johnny was featured dj in the Fall '07 issue of Info magazine.  After a break in the action, Johnny Blue is back in the studio creating new music.  Check out his new mix series, 'Structures', which consists of a deep tech/minimal feel, while bringing back the tribal and progressive sound Johnny is known for.

Detroit has long been a hub for electronic beat lovers and speaker freakers, but Golf Clap’s Hugh Cleal aims to lead a new generation. For nearly a decade, he’s hustled the project and its Country Club Disco label to the forefront of house music’s funkiest dimensions. The project (formerly a duo with Bryan Jones), works tirelessly to conjure a palpable energy, one fans can feel at every gig, be it a hot-and-heavy club set or an energetic takeover of a festival stage. Golf Clap feeds off the crowd, spinning the hottest songs of the moment while breaking new records - and this isn’t any press play, hands in the air fair. You're likely to hear a lot of cutting up between facefulls of funk and bass. 

Fueled by a relentless passion, when Cleal isn’t behind the decks, he’s likely pulling all-nighters in the studio. Bodies dancing in real-time is an addiction, but when it comes to original productions or high-profile remixes, Golf Clap wants to create something for every moment. Recent singles “Freak It Out” [Country Club Disco] “Mystery Scene” [mau5trap/Insomniac] and “Gravitate” [Toolroom] showcase their deft and dark grooves, while 2018 EPs  Vices  and  Machines  showcase club-ready attitudes. High-profile remixes for Zeds Dead and Illenium, Zhu and Tame Impala, Louis The Child, and Hotel Garuda give the music makers a chance to showcase stylistic variety. 

While 2020 has been a year of great change, Cleal has never stopped working. With loads of new tunes in the wings and a dedication to the Country Club community, Golf Clap is and always will be, in his own words, “about creating a community.”
