Not much is known about the techno scene there but Aleja’s talent and production skills drew the attention of many international techno laboratories such as Planet Rhythm UK, Labrynth, Subraum or Webuildmachines. This is not surprising when one digs through her discography, intelligent gloomy yet silk-layered techno. What strucks the most in her sound is that huge work on soundscapes. This mix will give you a good overview of her sonic world. A one hour mix of a techno that is modern by its texture and old-school by its twisted energy, sprinkled with breaks, clappy patterns and almost acidic loops. Aleja Sanchez is a Colombian DJ and producer, who has shared cabin not only in her natal Bogota with some international names including Ricardo Garduno, Inside Out, Drumcell and Troy Pierce among others, has been invited to play in some of the most important cities all over Colombia because her quality skills to perform cutting-edge techno music. As producer, this talented young but charmy artist has signed own productions to some well known labels such as Planet Rhythm, True Type Tracks, Etichetta Nera, Subraum Records, Labrynth, Illegal Alien Records to name a few, previously featured on her monthly Transgressions Podcast. Currently, prepares her first releases on vinyl, through Nachtstrom Schallplatten and Illegal Alien Records.

What better way to commemorate this week's hump day than by getting your On the 5th Day podcast fix, and if you need a mid-week pick me up, this one is definitely for you! This time we bring you Opuswerk, once a well-kept secret concealed by the swiss mountains, now powerfully resonating beyond those fluffy white peaks, reaching Berlin, Moscow, Paris and beyond! Whether immersed in the studio, flying solo or joining forces with Francois X for their HISS:1292 project (or of course getting stuck in behind the decks), Opuswerk is recognised for his ability to craft some very special moments.... you know the ones, when life just starts to make sense! His reputation for delivering is pulling him in the direction of clubs the world-over, whilst also securing him a solid, respectable residency for the Techno Legends nights at le Zoo in his home country. 

In terms of production, Opuswork's solo and collaborative works, released on labels such as Krill Music and Dement3d (as HISS: 1292) have earned him a rightful and deserving place in some of the finest record bags on the planet - Donato Dozzy, DVS1, Peter van Hoesen, Anthony Parasole, to name but a few, and we get the feeling there's a heck of a lot more where these beauties captured on wax came from! It's absolutely fair to say that exciting times lay ahead for this intriguing artist and we're super elated to be featuring him, bringing you a 1.5 hour live recording from his recent set at his own Swiss event, OPUS. Funnily enough, this closing set was recorded in September when he invited Scvreca to play on the same billing - who happens to be our new resident as of January 2018! That is a night we wish we'd been at!
