After Addison reappeared in the early 2000s, she began talking about “voices in the static” fragments of people who existed only in corrupted files, glitched messages, and broken drives.
She said the internet wasn’t infinite; it was a graveyard. Every deleted post, every crashed page, every forgotten photo, they weren’t gone. They were trapped, waiting to rot.

In 2018, Mesa Babe’s studio server crashed mid-session while recording a track built around distorted analog synth loops. When they rebooted the system, the screen displayed a folder that no one had created, labeled simply:
DIGITAL_DECAY/

Inside were audio stems of a song that didn’t exist... unfamiliar chords, reversed vocal textures, and a faint female voice whispering a single line in intervals:

“Static Angel”



Addison said she recognized the voice but couldn’t remember from where.

“Digital Decay” became the band’s reconstruction of that anomaly. An anthem for memory loss in the information age, and Addison’s realization that immortality isn’t eternal life… it’s being preserved in a system that keeps dying around you.
