Mesh Series 006: Ben Lukas Boysen

A curated series where we commission artists to make an hour long mix of whatever inspires them to experiment, produce, play out and what they listen to.

Ben Lukas Boysen has made a career out of transforming unusual sounds into compelling music. His first electronic compositions at 18 were experiments with samplers and tape loops leading to an album in 2003 and the subsequent foundation of his own Berlin studio. Since, he has produced multiple albums (many under the alias HECQ), and led numerous workshops on composition and sound aesthetics, as well as creating custom sound design for films, commercials, video games and installations. Boysen’s first film score for „Restive" premiered in 2011, followed by his debut album under his own name in 2013, and the award-winning score for the Sony Playstation game, Everything, in 2016 as well as Amazon series „BEAT“ in 2018 and the score for the  film adaptation of best seller „The Collini Case“ in 2019.

Founded by London-based artist and electronic producer Max Cooper, 
Mesh isn’t a typical record label, more an avenue to pursue ideas and 
collaborations with creative people who are pushing the boundaries of their
disciplines.

"The Meaning of Life" is that we don't know what it is. There is no one "Meaning of Life." You find your own by living and learning whilst experiencing The Mystery, visualizing what the world can be rather than comprehending what it is, acquiring a vast collection of answers, but never The Answer. Life is inherently meaningful. I believe the foundational meaning is simply Creation, for The Creator, which also applies to fractals of The Creator, such as us, planets, stars, the universe itself, etc.

The universe is also within.

Time loops.

There is never nothing in Geometry (and thus 3D)!
