We are over the moon to share with you a very special chapter of our monthly Podcast Series ~ courtesy of the enigmatic Khun Fluff. This forty-minute journey comes in the form of a live set weaving together Khun’s output on Siamese Twins with a tease of unreleased material 🌚✨

Khun Fluff is a stuff of legends ~ a mysterious double-headed cat living in the high mountains of Northern Thailand. Born and raised in a temple surrounded only by nature, gongs, bells and chimes. We also heard rumours it might be one of the aliases of the stellar Thai DJ, musician and Siamese Twins label head Sunju Hargun. Could it be so? 🤫🐈

This wildly meditative live set is a mystical deep listening adventure ~ a solo hike through the Thai mountain ranges under the scorching Sun and accompanied by a heavy scent of temple incense. There is no telling what you might find on this journey but one thing is for certain ~ it will be an adventure rich in drones and whispers and tingling percussion 📿

About two years ago we had our first episode of the Navigare Audio podcast and 24 chapters in we're humbled to see how it's living its own kinda life, with beautiful contributions from friends and friends to be. Such gifted artists, producers and djs who're willing to give. Thank you.

"When I was first approached by Navigare Audio about possibly making a mix I felt very honoured, I’ve always thought that their concept and releases resonated with me. When I was asked if I was interested in doing a longer mix than usual, I knew this was going to to be rewarding. The mix itself was recorded at Kolgruvan, Ringön, Göteborg. Navigare 024 - Anomali

This weeks Far Blue concept is created by Irina Kotik. Irina is one of the co-founders of Brooklyn based music platform Delayed, but moreover, she is a very talented DJ and producer. For her interpretation of Far Blue, she has thoughtfully selected music from different parts of her musical spectrum, which has resulted in this beautiful one hour mix.  

“This mix was recorded in my living room in Brooklyn on a hot and rainy summer day with a Xone:96 mixer, a pair of XDJ1000, and two companions: Kaws Blue BFF and What Party Orange. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences by attending many live performances and listening to DJ mixes, albums, and EPs, I amply titled this mix “The Book Of Reminders.” Just as a writer carefully selects words to evoke emotions and memories, I choose tracks that resonate with the essence of my musical influences. From the smooth beats of trip-hop to the dreamy vibes of ambient electronica and the infectious energy of breakbeat, the set invites listeners to explore the depths of my musical journey.”

Endurance is the ambient project of Canadian-born Joshua Stefane.
Using modular synthesizers, field recordings, and cassette tapes,
Endurance’s sound has become increasing minimal and tonally-
focused over the years, employing a minimum of elements to create
a maximum of expressiveness. In addition to releasing from labels
such as Constellation Tatsu and Mystery Circles, Endurance also
curates the Japan-based tape label Muzan Editions. He is part of the organizing team for Moment, a techno festival in Nara, and
SLOWMOTION, a regular ambient party in Osaka in collaboration
with AOKI takamasa and Loe. He has appeared at numerous high-
profile events such as Kyoto’s Star Festival, Moment, and Rural, and
has performed with artists such as Neel, Peter van Hoesen, and Wata Igarashi.

Mesh Series 002: Cosmin TRG 

A curated series where we commission artists to make an hour long mix of whatever inspires them to experiment, produce, play out and what they listen to.

The artwork was chosen by the artist, some words below:
I painted this sometime around 2014, ironically during a period of self-imposed isolation when I wanted to express myself through a different medium. It’s called “Cible” (French for “target”).

As a producer, DJ & label owner Cosmin Nicolae’s dedication to developing a rich and wholly personal artistic landscape provides the driving force behind one of dance music’s most unique & industrious individuals. 

Opening the door on Hessle Audio over a decade ago - an outlet that has gone on to become a defining voice within electronic music in the 21st Century, Nicolae’s list of affiliations reads like a who’s who of top tier contemporary dance music record labels. Appearances on Amsterdam’s Rush Hour and Gerd Janson’s Running Back, as well as a brace of singles alongside LP’s Gordian and Simulat on the now defunct 50 Weapons - not to mention work for Semantica and Bleep, have cemented Cosmin TRG deep in the psyche of the ever shifting amoeba that is the dance music zeitgeist. 

In many ways, what lies at the heart of Nicolae’s work - beyond the extraordinary pairing of high end sound design and club functionality, is an innate ability to bind his discography - to create a streamlined sonic vision without compromise, one that moves with purpose and vigour outwards to explore in depth structures that exist on the very periphery of House & Techno, Ambient & experimental electronics - but maintain a unique and recognisable finish. Few artists could boast a discography that marries 2016’s ubiquitous In Your Body, an anthemic spoken- word-meets- Tool-Techno leviathan released via Nicolae’s own club-focused Sportiv outlet, with Semnal - a gloriously executed LP of shifting, otherworldly Experimental music delivered under the artist’s given name via the Opal Tapes label. 

Cult concept missive Hope This Finds You Well, Nicolae’s 2019 reflection on corporate culture furthers this same dichotomy - a stunning wide-angle Ambient LP on Fizic - the label operated by the artist as a home to more conceptual iterations, that followed hot on the footsteps of a remix for Bpitch founder Ellen Alien & the fourth instalment on Sportiv - both offerings heady club constructions in their own right. 

On the road, both DJ sets and live performances mirror this healthy sentiment - with Nicolae as comfortable on main stages showcasing his take on hyper-modern propulsive Techno, as he is presenting the low slung avant-garde preoccupations of his more leftfield alias’. There’s the constant feeling that both these practices feed back into one another, and that from each respective vantage point, Cosmin TRG is able to make the kind of dynamic & intuitive artistic decisions that few can - keeping his work fresh & current without concession - ceding to his own desire to further his vision as a creator of sonic abstraction without losing sight of the dance floor.
