Erik Satie (1866–1925)
Erik Satie was a French composer and pianist, renowned for his unconventional and often humorous approach to music, which was ahead of its time and played a pivotal role in the development of modern music. Born on May 17, 1866, in Honfleur, France, Satie’s work was marked by a distinctive simplicity, originality, and wit, often challenging traditional forms and musical expectations.

Satie’s compositions are characterized by their minimalist, repetitive structures, unconventional harmonies, and unexpected juxtapositions of moods. His best-known works, such as Gymnopédies, Gnossiennes, and Trois morceaux en forme de poire, are celebrated for their introspective atmosphere, gentle rhythms, and subtle, evocative textures. These pieces, particularly the Gymnopédies, are considered some of the earliest examples of Impressionism in music, and they influenced not only the composers of his time, including Claude Debussy, but also the development of later movements such as minimalism and ambient music.

Beyond his music, Satie was a colorful and eccentric figure, known for his distinctive personality and his willingness to break with tradition. His work often reflected his unconventional philosophy of life, and he frequently infused his music with humor, surrealism, and even absurdity. He coined terms like "furniture music" to describe his experimental, ambient-style compositions, which anticipated the avant-garde developments of the 20th century.

Nemra is an Armenian rock band established in 2012 in Yerevan. Led by the main songwriter Van Yeghiazaryan on vocals and guitar, Vaspur Yeghiazaryan on bass (songwriter), keyboardist Marianna Karakeyan (songwriter), and drummer Marek Zaborski. The band’s music draws from the alternative and indie rock genres, and they also put a unique spin on traditional Armenian folk songs. 
In 2024, Nemra collaborated with Serj Tankian, frontman of System of a Down, on their song “I’m Afraid of Stars”. The collaboration is especially meaningful for the band, as SOAD was their inspiration to create a band. 
In 2025, Nemra received the Best Rock Band award at the Khazer Armenian Music Awards.
In 2018, the band won “Best rock band of the year” at the Armenian Music Awards. The band’s name, Nemra, is a play on the word Armen (Armenian), referencing the band’s love of looking at things from different perspectives. They have released three studio albums in English “Mubla”, “Hmm”, “The end of the party” and multiple singles and music videos. 
In 2022, the band performed at the Starmus festival, sharing the stage with legendary guitarist, Brian May, who gifted the band leader Van his six-pence guitar pick as a good luck charm for the band’s career. Nemra’s live performances are known to be unbelievably energetic and vibrant. During their concerts, the synergy between the band and the audience is incredible: the fans get vividly engaged in an unending sing-along with the band.

Anathema have been at the forefront of the UK rock/metal movement for many years. They began their journey as pioneers of melodic heavy music, influencing a myriad of bands to follow them, before outgrowing all genres and limitations as they fearlessly explored new territory and new ways to express feeling through sound.
The line-up is really a collective of two families who were quite simply born to do it. Anathema consists of brothers Vincent, Daniel and Jamie Cavanagh, alongside childhood friends John Douglas and his sister Lee, who is an incredible singer in her own right. The line-up is completed by Les Smith, who brings much in the way of production expertise to the band.
There is a deeper bond in the group that transcends usual band politics, ego, and self-interest. They have a shared vision: to make the most incredible music they possibly can, and it seems, despite the lavish praise heaped on the band for their past work, that they are now taking their work to a whole new level.

Radio Tehran is an Iranian indie rock band from Tehran, Iran. The band consists of Ali Azimi (lead vocals, guitar), Pedram Afshin (lead guitar, backing vocals), Hesam Garshasbi (bass, backing vocals) and Payam Hashemi (drums, backing vocals). Having previously worked with different names and lineups, RadioTehran’s current form took shape in 2009 and recorded their debut album “88” in the same year. “88” is a collection of old and new material and was released in March 2010.
