After 8 years studying as a drummer, several years of djing, and thanks to the inspiration of many events he attended in the past, he threw himself into producing psytrance music.  Due to the strong inspiration and good quality of the music, and a long friendship from the italian parties, even before having a live act ready, Dharma joined forces with Looney Moon Records to spread his fresh and original underground sound all over the globe.  Characterized by powerful funky basslines, researched acidic atmospheres and a happy and mild forestish sound choice in the leads, all his bright influences will transport you to a dynamic and euphoric journey into new sound lanscapes.  Simplicity, humility and passion are the core values at the root of this project, along with brotherhood, cosmic love, holographic awareness and quantum enightenment!

Here is the set i played at Shankra to honor our great friend and labelmate Bruno, Module Virus who passed away after battling with cancer. It was a magical moment,  the second the set was over it started raining. This set contains some of his best of, collaborations, recent and unreleased work. Big thanks to Mahi from Shankra for suggesting this set in his memory, Bom Shanka music for providing me with music which was released on their label, where Bruno was a member for many years - unfortunately i couldn't load that batch in time. Big thanks to Boom Festival and Ozora - you fullfilled his lifetime dreams by giving his music the stage he dreamed of since he started making music.  Much thanks also for everyone who supported Bruno in his too short but colorful life. It made him happy to play his music to people and see them dance. Fly high gentle soul - you live on through your music. We miss you.

Psyhead 2020 - Live recorded DJ set - 25.01.2020

Metasonic is the psychedelic DJ project of Sidney van Dyk. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa now living in Bangkok, Thailand.

Since first being exposed to psychedelic trance music and culture in 2009 he fell head over heals in love with both.

He believes that the psychedelic trance journey at it's roots is one of the most liberating and freeing experiences one can have. Be it progressive day-time to Full-on night time to Darkpsy etc, etc, etc and all the myriad of genres in between. The journey it takes you within your own consciousness and who you are after experiencing this journey of sound and self is what made him fall in love. 

Hence the name, Metasonic(meta - after / sonic - sound) is a tribute to that place in all of us that we reach after being taken on a psychedelic sound journey.

His vision for this project is to bring about journey sets to take the listener to that special place inside themselves.
