Tangerine Dream are a German electronic music group founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. 

Tangerine Dream released more than one hundred albums. Their early "Pink Years" albums had a pivotal role in the development of Krautrock. Their "Virgin Years" albums helped define what became known as the Berlin School of electronic music. These and later albums were influential in the development of electronic dance music, and also the genre known as new-age music, though the band themselves disliked the term. From the late 1990s into the 2000s, Tangerine Dream also explored some styles of electronica.

Although the group released numerous studio and live recordings, a substantial number of their fans were introduced to Tangerine Dream by their film soundtracks, which total over sixty and include Sorcerer, Thief, Risky Business, The Keep, Firestarter, Legend, Near Dark, Shy People, and Miracle Mile. They most recently composed the original score for the video game Grand Theft Auto V.

The band's influence can be felt in ambient artists such as The Future Sound of London and Global Communication, as well as rock, pop, and dance artists such as Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, M83, DJ Shadow, Cut Copy, and Kasabian. The band also clearly influenced 1990s and 2000s Trance music, where lush soundscapes and synth pads are used along with repetitive synth sequences, much like in their 1975 releases Rubycon and Ricochet, as well as some of their music from the early 1980s. The group have also been sampled countless times, more recently by Recoil on the album SubHuman, by Sasha on Involver, and on several Houzan Suzuki albums.'

BIG DATA is the paranoid pop brainchild of producer, Alan Wilkis. His music explores the relationship between man and machine, and the ways in which technology is reshaping the human experience, all with a healthy dose of distrust.

While AI may become humanity’s greatest achievement, it carries with it a potential risk that is both existential and irreversible… one of many reasons why experts refer to AI as our “final invention.” This tension is both fascinating and terrifying all at once, and it is the chief inspiration behind Big Data’s latest effort.

I'm (initially) a self taught piano / keyboard player, mainly for my own pleasure, trying to get the music that plays in my head, to the outside.

After 10 years of noodling about to myself, I've started taking some tuition, which is proving to be a very interesting journey, discovering what I've already learnt, and some rather large pot-holes in the road. 

Still at the stage where recording something doesn't come quite as easily as just sitting there & playing it, but I aim to try for one a week.. even if that means revisiting some old favorites =)
