DRX003 sees Doctor Jeep returning to his label with a collection of contrasting flavors: “Mozambique” marches along with a Steppers-style beat, while the flip “Press F” sees Jeep turn the tempo knob down to 100bpm for a chugging Acid x Reggaeton hybrid. Calgary-based Sub Chakra founder @Metafloor rounds out the EP with a rolling halftime remix of the title track. Boh! 

A portion of the proceeds from this release will go towards Cyclone Idai relief via Save The Children.

Producing music has always been a therapeutic process for me. It's one of the only things in my life that I can sit down for hours at a time, completely focus, and reach a state of tranquility. Over the last few years whenever I have been experiencing an emotional state, the genre of what I describe as "lush 85" has been there to serve as an outlet to express the turmoil I'd been experiencing. Directing this energy into music has been extremely powerful. By expressing our emotions through the arts we can transform our trauma into something extraordinary. If we don't acknowledge our emotions and find healthy ways to process them we miss an amazing opportunity to evolve and align with our higher self. 

Although these tracks represent the darker times in the last two years I was experiencing heartache, suffering, and betrayal, the EP as a whole carries a sense of hope and wonder. While working on this type of music I often questioned why during such dark times I always found myself lifting up towards the light vs remaining in darkness. I think this is because I've always felt that every dark moment has something to teach us. Either we can let these moments consume us or we let them guide us to our inner truths to reveal our true selves. 

The dark soundscapes of dubstep and halftime are very important to me and will always have a place in my musical expression but they are an intended action with intention. My intention when writing this music in particular, is not to fight the darkness with more darkness but to shine a light and open myself the unknown. Music can act as a daily journal, allowing you to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper, allowing for mental clarity and understanding.   

Most of my releases are a collection of tracks meant for DJs and big soundsystems. This release is much more personal. I hope you enjoy listening to start to finish as it carries you through a "Moment In Time" - Inspired by the likes Margari's Kid, Stay, Kid Drama, Amit, Hidden Turn, Om Unit, Tycho and Synkro, it blends various sounds, influences and my own various styles into what I believe to be my most coherent work to date. 

This release marks the end of a big chapter in my life. It serves as a reminder to everything that I have experienced, an anthology to honor my past with gratitude, and move forward. The music and growth I have experienced are a gift. I now graciously share this gift with you.

Deep Heads are proud to present the new EP 'Far lands' from Deep Heads regular and production master Biome.
The EP starts off with 'Surfin'. An experimental moulding of an array of different sounds  & influences that display what this artist is all about when he goes a little deeper with his productions.

It reminds us of other tracks such as 'Alternate' & 'Maple', also released on the imprint, but takes on a new shape to create a fresh result of musicality. Wonky beats with wavy pads & hypnotic arpeggiators fill the recording, with the sub-bass pulsing through on the low end to finish the track with style & finesse.

'Far Lands' continues the energy of musical flow, but is not as gritty and dark as 'Surfin'.
It's filled with silky pads on the top and equally as smooth basslines that fill the lower end of the frequency spectrum.
It feels uplifting and delicate, yet still manages to provide a generous serving of bass.

'Waves of Sanity' for the 3rd track here continues the theme of pad dominate production music with warm low-end frequency drive, but goes a bit harder than the previous 2 tracks.
Placed at 135BPM, it's a heads down (pun intended) roller that is presented to a very high standard.

Biome's Music has been supported by some serious tastemakers & DJ's that include Radio 6Music's Mary Ann Hobbs, Mala, J:Kenzo, Synkro,  
N-Type, Truth & DJ Youngsta.
