The wait is over - PB4 is here. Perhaps one of the most revered album series in drum & bass is back with a vengeance, and some are saying it maybe the best yet.

After a brief hiatus one of the most feared twosomes in drum n bass are back again and as menacing as usual. Creeper drives with unmistakeable force across its 5 or so minutes. The effervescent trademarks are all still present and correct and it’s like they never left. Phantom Audio forever.

Metalheadz Platinum is back with a debut from drum n bass finest newcomer Xtrah with tracks ‘No Good’ and ‘Directive’ alongside Headz crew member and co-conspirator Mikal.

‘No Good’ sees Xtrah fusing his musical leanings with his technical prowess. The intro is awash with atmosphere and much scene setting, eventually giving way to the vocal refrain that sums up the vibe of the track very well - Its about the dark nature of beauty and everything this  entails. The track concerns itself with dark atmospheres and soulful tones, showing an unseen maturity to Xtrah’s production.

This time Dom leaves the 2 step drop out completely as he goes in with more subs, more kicks and more dub FX. South Coast producer Section steps up with his new EP on Rebel Music 'Shadow Sound', a weighty four-tracker that blends old-school flavour with crisp, modern production. The Metalheadz back catalogue features almost every major figure in the history of drum and bass, and is one of the most innovative labels out there, consistently crossing boundaries with its releases since 1994. The labels output continues to showcase a maturing genre of music that displays influences from reggae, hip-hop, house and techno with highly-sophisticated and intricately-produced tracks, contrary to the image of the music that is typically presented by the mass media.

Releasing music from some of the biggest names out there whilst at the same time pushing and letting new talent break through are the reasons why Metalheadz continues to stay at the forefront of electronic music.

The Metalheadz label was also the driving force behind the seminal Sunday Session Club Nights, which achieved legendary status at London's Blue Note club. Today, Metalheadz club nights are often sell outs with the label also regularly hosting stages at some of the biggest festivals across the world.
