Metalheadz and Grey Code are proud to announce 'Renewal', the debut Grey Code album set to be released in January 2022 which follows up from the UK producer's seminal EPs ‘Reprieve’ and ‘Helios’, as well as a critically acclaimed remix for Goldie’s ‘The Mirrored River’ and Beatport No.1 collaboration ‘Call In Me’ alongside Phase.

With a huge package of new music ready to be revealed to a fan base that has grown around Grey Code's deep, soulful and intricately woven rhythms, he’s once again set an enviable standard. The album positions itself perfectly within the back catalogue of Metalheadz, with the South coast born producer now an imperative part of the roster.

‘Renewal’ marks a continuation in Grey Code’s journey, one which has enabled him to tour internationally, from Austria to Japan, as well as everywhere in between. Flexing the razor-sharp production skillset which he’s become renowned for, ‘Renewal’ is another example of the young producer’s value. It’s a fully immersive album from start to finish, including the sounds of ‘Prima’ setting the pace whilst ‘Voyage XIII’, ‘Eternal Garden’ and ‘Quantified Self’ follow suit. Meanwhile, ‘Actress’ and ‘Miserere’ deliver the darker hues whereas ‘Lone’, ‘Birth’ and ‘Nowhere Ever’ take you back into Grey Code’s more emotive musical landscapes.

Finishing the album are selections ‘MANTA’, with its euphoric levels, and ‘Primrose’ with its old-school breaks, alongside ‘Illiad’ which nods to its namesake through being sonically epic. At just 21 years old, he’s already gained a reputation amongst esteemed tastemakers, including label boss London Elektricity and BBC Radio 1’s Friction, for contributing stand-out moments on various compilations. Take 'Komodo' on ‘Hospitality 2016’, 'Nightfall' on ‘Ten Years Of Med School' and 'Guardian' on S.P.Y’s ‘Hospital Mixtape’ to start. Now two years on Whiney steps into the limelight with his own artist defining, solo EP ‘Stranger Tides’.

Opener 'Moondance' paves the way bringing high-energy to the surface. If ‘Teddy’s Gate’, released on the Skrillex founded Nest HQ, tugged your heart strings then roll onto title track ‘Stranger Tides’ with spacey vocal textures and ice-cold synths. Fans of his 2016 high-flyer ‘Komodo’ will fall hard for its brutal brother ‘On The Rocks’. Estonian drum & bass marvel Sound in Noise became a member of the Ram team in 2017. Since then he’s toured across the European continent and brought with him an eclectic record collection which has sat pride of place within the Ram catalogue.

For 2020, he’s set to drop the third part of his ‘Shapes’ EP series, with three out of four tracks already dropped on Andy C's notorious lockdown live stream. The aim of the project was simple: the advancement of the human genome. The creation of a faster, stronger, more capable being from the raw source material of life, the encoding of a biological program more sophisticated than any other that had come before it, creator or lack thereof be damned. Set to work on the project were the organization’s top minds, experts in the fields of experimental medicine, biology, genomics and evolutionary theory. Working in secret under the benign neglect of the organizations public eye, their experiments pushed the very limits of the sciences they employed, as well as the morality that they all held quite fortunately in questionable regard.

From vats, replicators, test tubes, and centrifuges, these secretive experts bore forth forms of life never before seen, creating creatures both beautiful and terrifying, beings of undeniable superiority and of unimaginable horror born together as twins. Humanoids hybridized with multispecies genomes came forth in forms from fungal to animalistic, merged in unspeakable ways that stood in stark contrast to the hippocratic oath some present held upon the surface world. Down here in the depths of both earth and depravity, such concerns mattered not in the face of sheer technological and biological progress. Such was their task the VARIATION IN PRODUCTION of the multifaceted human genome.

The Metalheadz back catalogue features almost every major figure in the history of drum and bass, and is one of the most innovative labels out there, consistently crossing boundaries with its releases since 1994.
