This July, Symmetry Selects’ compilation returns for its second instalment. The prequel was released in 2018 and showcased fresh music from, at the time, new and exciting upcoming producers such as DSP, Subtle Element, Rizzle and many more.

Continuing this forward, we have collated tracks sent in from the past two years, refined this list down to 12 favourites and ‘Symmetry Selects 2’ is the result.

The release aims to share great music, from artists that are not necessarily well known yet and the tracks were picked in a similar way to Break’s albums; carefully balancing a wide range of flavours. Tracks like ‘Fields of Green’ by Silloh and ‘Slow It Down’ by Reflektor ft. Leo Woods showcase deeper, more soulful aspects of the project, however the likes of S.Murk (‘Hat Spine’) and Boycot (‘Coppola’) bring a darker, more industrial edge.

Some works blend different elements together, like Dvice One’s jazz / neo soul inspired ‘Only You’ or Melysma’s reggae/dub influenced roller ‘Run Out’, whilst more established names also feature, such as Joakuim (with the infectious ‘Pirates’) and Jam Thieves (on tough stepper ‘Sinaloa’).

‘Symmetry Selects 2’ compiles some of the best submissions sent through to the label, with all artists making their debut appearance, in a project we are very proud of.

The return of Jubei to the Metalheadz fold as a recording artist. The success of his debut album ‘To Have & Have Not’  led to an intense touring schedule for Jubei, demand was high from United Kingdom to Japan and everywhere in between.  Following this Jubei took some time out from touring and returned to the studio to craft five tracks in his typical streamlined fashion. The tracks act a statement of intent from the producer, no one can quite match what he does and the music proves it. Lead track Congo is assured and confident, Paragon features new vocalist Rumour- cold soul against a bleak landscape. Further guest appearances come from Tyrone of Chroma and Steo accents the amen led Cold Corner. The EP closes with Haunt, a functional tool for DJ and dancefloors.  Listening to the EP in its entirety feels like Jubei never left, it’s a massively welcome return by one of Metalheadz leading lights.

Fierce and Zero T has become a formidable collaboration of late. The pair work from individual studios throwing ideas back and forth and the results speak for themselves. Bonesmen is classic era Reinforced and Metalheadz all over, brought bang up to date with Fierce’s trademark roll out aesthetic. The AA side- In Circles is takes the same rolling function but on a totally different route, soulful and uplifting but still not compromising what the pair have become known for.
