This track comes "Mechanticles", the latest opus by Monasterium Imperi inspired by Warhammer 40k Adeptus Mechanicus and Dark Mechanicum lore. The album plunges listeners into a realm of unrelenting tech-religious world and vast industrial landscape. The atmosphere is conjured by the haunting presence of distorted choirs and chants, echoing the cryptic incantations of Techpriests.

Aokigahara (青木ヶ原), known as the Suicide Forest is a 35-square-kilometre forest that lies at the northwest base of Mount Fuji in Japan. Aokigahara forest is dense, shutting out all but the natural sounds of the forest itself. The forest has an historic association with demons in Japanese mythology, and it is a notoriously common suicide site. 

Duncan Ritchie explores the long journey to Aokigahara through soundscapes ripe with lonely pianos on textural backdrops. Duncan spent countless hours field recording on the voyage between Tokyo to Aokigahara which creates the perfect atmospheric companion to the intricate instrumental approach. Svartsinn was asked to contribute a song for the desibel project which is a part of Norway's biggest festival "Øyafestivalen" in 2016. As I was already working on a new album I chose to make a track with a theme that could fit in with the album concept. This is the desibel project version of the song. A slightly different version will appear on the album.  The song image shows the speakers also known as Desibel. (The worlds biggest mobile speakers). Mastered by Simon Heath at Cryo Chamber.

The hearth warms your bones as you peer out the crosshatch window. The damp morning dew forms translucent drops on the knee high grass. Whatever was out there last night seems gone but the birds are not yet singing and the animals still hiding. You pull your trekking boots on and head out the gnarled door, leaving the heat of the lonely cabin behind. 

Save the faint caw of a crow from up in the canopy, the forest lay silent; Devil's Hill looms in the distance. Through crooked trees you go as the headache hits you and flashes from last night come flooding back; Hooded figures. Blood. The sacrifice! Through clenched teeth you gaze down at the compass in your hand. The needle spinning faster and faster. Anxiously, you look back for the cabin, but it's gone. Gone! Devil's Hill dominates where it once stood, only one way to go. 

Lush field recordings, detailed soundscapes and melancholic melodies drench this album in atmosphere. For lovers of high fidelity dark ambient.
