Edinburgh-based Alternative/Art-Pop band WUKASA walk a sonically fine line between a chilled night at home with the cat or waking up with ringing ears, sore feet, some unforgettable memories and that special someone youʼve been unhealthily admiring on Instagram for way too long...

Having captured the intrigue and attention of the city with their exotic blend of shimmering guitars and punchy toe-tapping 808's, they have been described as a musical cocktail of Glass Animals, Everything Everything, Easy Life and HONNE. Such individualism has seen them previously appear in many weird and wonderful places such as Spotifyʼs New Music Friday, Topshop's worldwide in-store playlist, Made In Chelsea E4, The Official Premier League and a little- known show about an island where people find love in their speedos.

TORCHES are an indie pop group tied together by a shared nostalgia from the music of their youth and dreams for the future. They have been making their mark in the LA music scene with their dark, indie pop – filled with lush sonics, infectious melodies, and dance oriented drums.

The group has shared the stage with bands such as Wild Nothing, The Drums, Atlas Genius, Peace and more. Their songs have made airtime on KROQ, KCRW, MTV’s Teen Mom, Catfish, Underemployed, Unlocking the Truth and more. They have also been featured in publications such as NYLON Magazine, Interview Magazine, LA Weekly and ads for Adidas, Converse & many others.

Within the music you can hear reoccurring themes of love, disappointment, acceptance, and the idea that one is constantly in search of an electrifying energy that’s bigger than all of us.

Kidsmoke are Lance (Vocals/Guitar), James (Bass/Vocals), Sophie (Guitar/Vocals) and Ash (Drums). Their shimmering brand of dreamy indie-pop has seen them make waves in their native North Wales.

With a sync-feature on Charlie Brooker's Netflix series Black Mirror under their belts, they burst into 2018 with single Sister Sadness (named one of  Steve Lamacq’s ‘6Music Recommends’ tracks of the year), were featured as The Sunday Times’ ‘Breaking Act’, supported Gaz Coombes (formerly of Supergrass)and were invited by Robert Smith (The Cure) to play his Meltdown Festival in support of  The Joy Formidable.

The band have spent the summer in the studio with long-time producer Russ Hayes, working on their forthcoming debut album. The lead single Rising Sun marks the start of a campaign that the band have been eager to get underway, with the album taking shape for release in early 2019. 

For Rising Sun, they took a trip out to sunny West Kirby to record with Domino Records artist and for The Coral guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones - the track is due for release 2nd Nov 2018.

In October 2018, Kidsmoke head out to Western Canada with Wrexham’s FOCUS Wales Festival to showcase at Breakout West Festival, where they will play to a host of international delegates and North American industry professionals. Speaking of the band’s trip, Andy Jones (FOCUS Wales co-founder and music booker) said: “It’s great to see Kidsmoke making this important step in their career, and we’re really pleased we can play our part in their journey”.

Electronic musician from Norway. I started playing piano/keyboards in the mid 80s. After a few years at the municipal music school, I quickly grew tired of the simple piano-only education and got to move on to classes with keyboards and synths. From the early beginning with Technics K-200 rhythm keyboard from 1983 via some Casios/Hohner keyboards, I evolved with the later Technics KN-1000 and KN-2000 before moving on to Roland XP-50. As the computer revolution made DAWs affordable, 1999 made sequencing using Cubase easy and the studio grew ever larger with more outboard gear. Today the studio has become a sizeable and functional MIDI/arranging studio with over 40 synths/modules and more centered around a MacPro with MOTU’s Digital Performer, and numerous more or less famous productions.

I have always had a musical approach towards sound engineering and composing, rooted mainly in vivid harmonic structures and saturated compositions. Inspiration has always been the likes of Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Eric Serra to name a few giants in the electronic scene, but also a heart towards well produced pop music from the 70s and 80s as well as epic film scores from John Williams, Alan Silvestri and Hans Zimmer. The baby era of computer music from the late 80s and early 90s was also a heavy influence.
