An industrial incident, a long live act, a four hands portrait. There comes the third opus of Meth.O.tapes label catalogue, in a dense, deep fog.
Following a first album out on Big Science Records, the duo Warzabart sets up a throbbing
nightmare, a mental image of what a « BLEVE » is, namely a boiling liquid expanding vapor
explosion. Between noise monolithism and the exciting richness of live takes where the machine
itself tends to create the adequate language to tell the unspeakable, everything here is torn appart. If
trance there is, no chaman to guide it ; if humanity remains, it is but a shadow after the fire.
A lonely ruin wandering inspired by the Feyzin plant incident, all built in electronic gasps and
spasms, a whole musical lucid dreaming in torment.

We're happy to announce and share this new "Gabben" release edition by Gil.Barte, including 3 drone-ambient-experimental - but very fuzzy - remixes from talented artists Catherine Danger (BE), Civilistjävel! (SW), and Warzou (FR). 
    Last year, we released the LP in a limited edition of 50 copies in compact disc format, featuring 8 original tracks by the French artist. Since, we've fallen a little behind our catalogue schedule but not for a long: we'll start 2025 with this nice gift, followe by much more. 
	
This softly colored and rising frequencies trips are the result of a pleasant in non-club way of reading and highlighting Gil.Barte's percussive tracks and field recording work on Single EP . 
    The remixes will be available in a very limited edition, in a special pack including the original version (orange insert), the remixes version (blue insert) and a special A3 poster (greyscales).

Today on Meta Moto Premieres we have Teenage Menopause Records. For this new full-length output, Gil.Barte delivers on Teenage Menopause an 8 tracks LP full of formal strength and psychedelic grandeur. Unlike the vast near-death explorations or trancey adventures he developped on various labels such as Neubau, Big Science Records, Homemade Soundsystem or his own imprint Meth'O'Tapes, the meaningfully-named « Claviceps Purpurea » is a botanist guide to the valleys of the mind.

From the eponym opening to the ending echo, each entry is a glance at magical universal exotica. With an intense emphasis on rhythm, standing quite apart from his former releases, Gil.Barte draws the bouncing steps of a whirlwind dance rooted in western witchcraft.

Raging pieces of club-destroying material (for those who dare) meet sketches of electronic fever-dreams. A full circle that is meant to run on and on, breaking the veil of daylight consciousness.

Further departing from both the cinematic abstraction of ‘Piteous Gate’ and the hectic drums of ‘Damaged Merc’, Berlin producer M.E.S.H.’s new full-length, ‘Hesaitix’, is marked by its hyper-ornamented rhythms and a sense of pensive, moonlit spaces.

The atmosphere has shifted; the radical deconstruction of previous releases has given way to subtler interventions, building new structures in strange territories. Shifting from the meditative to states of manic unease, Hesaitix is an unnerving injection into both the social space of club music and the interior space of digital audio fantasy.

How did I become so stupid?

A sound can be both formless and over-rendered, like a boneless but fleshy hand from a life drawing class.

What agent could set these broken sounds in motion?

A laugh behind an evil curtain. A drummer that’s cool and grotesque, a detuned siren. A brushfire under a full moon.

Recorded in Berlin and Umbria, Hesaitix sees Janus resident and PAN staple M.E.S.H. firmly engaged in a kind of sonic worldbuilding, a place where the unconscious and the alien intersect.

The Wind Of ? is the sophomore album by multi-disciplinary Montreal artist Keru Not Ever. Simultaneously pursuing and shattering ties with 2017-Tereza’s line of timbral explorations, TWO? activates a new topology: that of the parasite. Indeed, the general movement of the album tends toward a tense subtraction of the sensual to set in motion the pursuit of a conceptual ideal corrupted by the presence of an hyperventilating breath, a structural gash and a ventriloque-like narrativity based on the libidinal repetition of contemporary DAWs. Composed in three distinct and interchangeable (in)acts (I. Tereza + Molloy ; II. Zabriskie + Équilibre de la terreur + Xen ; III. Limite I + II), moving from one block to another into the project - and even within the pieces themselves - the album occurs as an exchange of glances and cracked voices, a mirror game between different and precarious vessels leading to a schizophrenic sensorium similar to the banal and dislocated experience of the new digital ennui. These parasitic breaks are presented as being necessary for the creation and the preservation of an event
from which its truth could emanate : spring seems obvious now.

In The Wind Of ? It is midnight as much as another hour, the question does not arise there, it rather arises by the who does what and by the why is it impossible to prevent a parasite from entering or exiting an (in)act. In the future, everything will be an album.

Inspired by b-movies, the songs are basically made from VHS audio samples worked through a sampler, with additional vintage drums and original synths and sounds.
Billy rummaged through his DVD and VHS collection to find music and dialogue cuts, whispers, atmospheres, then work them out with a sampler, add electronic vibes and finally give a proper tribute to the last days of celluloid.
“VHS memories” is not a vaporwave album though, despite the common philosophy, it is simply Disco in a Bogus style to be enjoyed in a Bogus way.

"Gil.Barte inaugure le catalogue du label de Meth.O.Tapes avec un LP aussi programmatique qu'habité. Basculant l'exercice du long format du côté de la recherche expérimentale bien plus que de la narration, l'objet nommé « R.S.F » est une collection d'images sonores intrigantes. Les tracks ne  commencent ni ne finissent vraiment, pièces d'un puzzle éclaté sans résolution apparente, se déroulant comme autant de pages d'un bestiaire fantastique oublié. Car il est question de variations formelles, de palette stylistique vaste, où l'exploration est à la fois impulsion et finalité jamais atteinte, en accord avec la volonté du collectif Meth.O.Tapes. Chaque créature sonore résonne de bribes imaginaires tantôt majestueuses, tantôt terribles, tantôt naïves, parfois mystiques, parfois naturalistes, plus oniriques qu'exotiques, toujours évocatrices. Un curieux objet musical, un objet poétique comme voulu par le collectif, car objet il y a, recueilli sous format cassette et coffret, forme-sens d'une boîte de Pandore aux mille et un mystères."
