Ben Klock introduces Greek-raised, Moscow-based artist Stef Mendesidis for the next Klockworks release. Mendesidis delivers 3 original tracks using analogue gear to produce soundscapes inspired by cinematic scenes. Thats sounds transport the listener through sounding grooves and classy chords that fit the signature Klockworks sound. Focusing on his machines for the craft of his music, Mendesidis recorded all cuts in one take. To celebrate his EP release, he wants to join the Klockworks showcase at Berghain on December 29th.

A fresh techno project from a new production talent, Truesoul delivers the debut EP from Ango Tamarin. The artist first connected with Adam Beyer via a link from fellow Ibiza resident Chris Spero of Dense & Pika. His work offers a triumvirate of rolling bubblers, heavy on functionality.

Expertly-rendered title track 'What Was That' steps forward as the pacesetter, rupturing on impact after a supercharged build-up cuts the track loose, releasing its propulsive core. 'Cat Man Do' possesses an infectious energy, built around a smack-dab groove, thumping bottom end and mechanical stabs. Asserting that he knows how to invigorate a dancefloor, the EP closes with 'Catch The Donkey', an effortlessly bouncy, bustling track that impresses with intricacy.

Returning after a six-month break, Truesoul delivers a pair of uplifting cuts from Bart Skils, marking his debut on Drumcode’s little brother imprint.

One of Drumcode most consistent contributors, Bart Skils also knows his way around a melodic lead better than most. With this is in mind, it’s difficult to believe this is the first sighting we’ve had of the Dutchman’s productions on Truesoul.

‘My Rules’ was created during lockdown with the specific intent to brighten the lives of the techno faithful. Both compositions were inspired by the type of tracks Skils would typically use to build his sets during longer sessions, when tension-and-release dynamics are deployed with aplomb. The title track comprises a wiggly bassline running alongside a skilfully arranged vocal hook, while tiny flashes of melody amplify the atmosphere. ‘Cruising Waves’ is marked by a hypnotic groove and a meditative vocal loop before a ball-tearing industrial synth-line rips through the bottom end at regular intervals throughout the second half of the piece.
