With synths sounding like liquid tension, the original mix is a journey through tough beats and
frantic electronics.
The mighty Slam are in charge of the first remix and they take the dark and dirty route, stripping the original
down and adding some bleakness of their own, only to surprise us with an old school-sounding breakdown.
The Acid mix is slightly more rolling, featuring snappy drums and pulsating percussion, which takes us to the fourth
track of the EP; closing up is Tom Laws, who has been making his own unmistakable noise as of late. Utilizing simple,
yet solid drums he offers us a clearer picture of the tense synths while maintaining the vibe of the original.

Phobiq Recordings keep our eyes on them again, this time announcing a special, more experimental edition of underground Techno. Nikola Gala makes his full debut with Siren EP cleverly noding to the dark side. Nikola has a proven record of succesful releases with Rekids, Plastic City, Suara, Freerange and Ibadan and continues to excite us with his depth of production and sharp tech edge .In Siren EP he uses his own qualitative way and reaches out once more to a slightly different yet pure techno audience. 
Things get started with title track Siren where echoing vocal chops announce departure. Sirens, barking chords and a perfect rolling snare build up tension, reaching progressively to the peak. Nikola utilises each element of the track to devastating effect creating a deep, evolving techno monster here. 
The Timeis laced with discordant riffs and a distinct detuned stab enhancing the haunted atmospherics. 
Atonal synths and a male vocal stab rasp away before he brings it all in together. A persisant ascending string melody and beautifully opened hihats on top perfect this beauty! 
Gossipstarts us off with a raw low bass before a hypnotizing high piched synth stab takes action. Cricketing percussions and staccato chops indulge you to follow the rhythm while sparse closed hihats play the game bringing graciously all elements together! 
In Germanium cavernous bass and marching drums set the tone while a warm tech synth fills in and out. Smooth continuous razor sharps make every techno audience to keep heads down religiously on this one! 
Diode boasts beautiful horn stab manipulation while flangering, echoing notes knit a serious groove and show us Nikolas acute eye to production detail.

The one and only Eric Sneo graces Phobiq for the first time with this three-track journey into sleek, chrome-plated Techno. 
The title track has been surgically arranged so that the cavernous percussion and spacious effects can take over the whole track with their immersing strength. The grinding drums in combination with the hypnotic, filtered riff running throughout the track kick things up a notch and ensure maximum overdrive. 
On &#8220;Stanch&#8221;, snappy drums provide the backdrop for otherworldly hi-hats to pound away while the focus shifts to the immense rhythm section and percussive mayhem. As expected, an apocalyptic breakdown ensues and all hell proceeds to break loose. &#8220;Interleaved&#8221; picks up from there and seals the EP with classic chords that mutate over time together with more sonic manipulation, which ultimately serves as an exhibition of effortless mastery.

Number 85 in the catalogue comes from long term label friend - Italian stalwart - Clif Jack.
'Imminent' kicks things off with a brazen 909 which courses under telephone tones as the stage for a captivating track is set. Drums are layered while a caustic acid line bubbles into the mix, snowballing tension towards a cinematic breakdown. Vocal snips and steely sonics render an immersive atmosphere before 'Restless' follows up as a more languid trip.
A funky, kinetic bass pattern counters the kick while more phone tones achieve dance-floor hypnosis. Progress steadily bubbles while eerie high frequencies fill the outer edges of the stereo space. The breakdown then opens out in eye-widening fashion in a manner which is guaranteed to make for many memorable moments on the floor.

Skober teams up with Yan Oxygen for the collaborative &#8220;Take A Look Inside&#8221; where persistent vocal snippets meticulously evolve, while mighty snares and even mightier chords take over the whole affair. On Yan&#8217;s solo outing &#8220;Corsa&#8221; we are treated to even more chords, which now clearly take the center stage, and add to the stomping vibe created from its beginning. Skober&#8217;s &#8220;Polymorphine&#8221; seals the EP and yes, offers even more mutated chord progressions, letting the crackling rhythm section drive things away in style.

Skober, Yan Oxygen - Take A Look Inside (Original Mix)

Mathias Hatting made his first appearance on Oliver Huntemann's Confused Recordings under the Motion Unit moniker (teamed up with André Winter). Two decades on, his powers show no sign of abating as he returns to Huntemann's Senso Sounds label for three intense techno cuts that are fitting testimony to 20 years of expertise in sound design and soundtrack composing.
The aptly titled "Venom" kicks things off, a hypnotic, reverberating, machine music bomb that gradually expands into the space around you until it envelops every synapse and nerve.
Its counterpart "Antidote" is deep and rubbery, bedecked with glitchy crackles and a ping-ponging riff. Subtly wrought changes make it an ever-evolving, utterly immersive journey.
Last but not least, "Kammerflimmern" explores very different territory, removing the kick drum to create a postapocalyptic landscape of robot drones and percussive fluttering. Building to a pay-off that never comes, nebulous bass clouds briefly blossom then recede - a delicious exercise in restraint that will leave you wanting more.

Containing five tracks that cover a circular range from pre-party ambiance to tripped-out melodic odyssey; vocal laced, chord driven hooks; barnstorming peak-time hammers; and 123bm afterparty grooves; there is more than the ‘usual’ Drumcode fare on offer within the aptly named ‘Life Through Different Eyes’ EP. A significant release for artist and label; the sonic incarnation of Fitzpatrick’s growing maturity as a producer and an indication as to the next evolution of the Drumcode sound.
