Avidus is back on Hommage with their single ‘Dunes’ including remixes from Jesse Trinidad and Oberheimer. The duo, AKA Marc Wolf and Fritz Wagner, hail from Kiel in Germany and bring very different but complementary influences to the project. Marc is a DJ and self-taught drummer and guitar player, while Fritz is committed to music theory and composition. Their distinctive productions have already caught the attention of label bosses at Afterlife and Crosstown Rebels. Together they are a remarkable unit, seemingly destined to make dance music that tantalises the emotions as well as making the dance floor move.

We have the great pleasure to be able to present the talented German producer Paul Schmidpeter in our family. Ode To The Sun" is the name of this beautiful release of three tracks where the presence of organic elements with deep melodies will make us feel strong emotions. It also includes a remix of the consolidated German duo Avidus. The first track "Ode To The Sun" includes these elements in an exemplary way. Its intense melody accompanied by a sensual vocal and a constant bass line make this wonderful sensation possible. The depth of the second track called "Everything Floats" and its aggressive percussions make the combination perfect. It takes you to dream but keeps you constantly alert. The third track "Sirens" is a story from beginning to end. An evolution of feelings that will catch you capturing the elegance of its elements. Finally Avidus has painted in a majestic way on the beautiful canvas of "Ode To The Sun". #PlasticFreeParty is a collection of conscientious, green-hearted tunes from some of our favourite artists, all brought together to highlight the incredible work being done by our friends at Bye Bye Plastic, the disruptive nonprofit working to eliminate single-use plastics in the music industry and restore Earth balance. The album will be officially launched at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event with a party organised in collaboration with Levantine House in the luxurious W Amsterdam on release day, Thursday 20th October. A world-first, ground-breaking non-vinyl physical version of the album is also in the works.

Curated by Parisian DJ duo Chambord and released on BLOND:ISH’s ABRACADABRA label, #PlasticFreeParty brings together 14 new tracks from artists like BLOND:ISH, Shiba San, Vander & Deer Jade, Urmet K, Zigan Aldi and Chambord themselves. 100% of the album’s profits will be forwarded to the Bye Bye Plastic Foundation, enabling them to increase their visibility and message.

Chambord explained how the compilation came to fruition; “In 2020, we worked with Bye Bye Plastic for our first live performance in France. During this time, we gathered a group of friends and associates to create fundraising for this cause and have been working together ever since. We met with Camille from the BBP foundation, and together with Blond:ish we decided to create a music compilation to raise funds. Together we can hopefully achieve our goals and make a difference.”

‘#PlasticFreeParty’ is released on ABRACADABRA from 20th October 2022.

Tokyo Fan Club – the exciting new collaboration from acclaimed producers Luke Brancaccio, Gai Barone, and vocalist Kiki Cave – announce their debut album ‘We Live Electric’, released on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records on 18 November.  

 
As a delicious first taster of what people can expect from the album, a remix of ‘Horses’ from renowned Greek producer Echonomist will be released on 11 November. 

 
With his pulsating and atmospheric remix of ‘Horses’, Echnomist displays why he has become such an in-demand producer and remixer. The dark and hypnotic ‘80s electro soundscape is the perfect soundtrack for after-parties, showcasing Kiki Cave’s stunning vocal and is certain to get a big reaction when played out. 

 
Tokyo Fan Club’s forthcoming debut album, ‘We Live Electric’ will be presented in two parts. Part 1 is an electronica laden album of 80’s / 90’s soundtrack inspired synths and vocals whilst Part 2 is a more more stripped back soundscape and ambient version of the album which will highlight the other side to Tokyo Fan Club’s sound.

The EP starts with the title track "Erlking". Named after the very dark and mystic king of the elves, this track is a heavy hitting beast. The rolling drum pattern sounds like a horses' gallop, accompanied by striking bass synth shots and signature Avidus effects and details. Then the lead comes in almost narrating a story of being chased by the king. After some rave moments the main break is happening and in a trademark Avidus' manner the harmonies and lead combine into a symphonic progression. After the drop, no more words are needed.

In her remix of the title track rising talent Nina Hepburn from Hamburg takes the lead of Avidus and adds a deeper drum kit, giving it a more elegant and progressive overall vibe. With some more melodic lines and a rolling baseline this remix is a beautiful alternative to the original.

On the "flipside" of the EP, the original named "We Know" is a next chapter when it comes to the deeper works of Avidus. A percussive drum kit with broken beats lead the way, then the emotional chord progressions come in. After some carefully selected arpeggios, emotional vocals come in and complete the song also giving it its title.

Then things get crazy with the remix work of mastermind producer and renowned Oddity labelhead Fur Coat, who takes the vocals and parts of the harmonies and transforms the deep original into a banger of a track, ready to smash dancefloors apart.
