Metrik’s highly anticipated second album ‘LIFE/THRILLS’ released on Hospital Records is an exhilarating and flawlessly executed evolution of his signature sound. Under the banner of drum & bass it draws on his love for film soundtracks, synthwave, neo-soul and the Japanese pop sub-genre, Shibuya-kei and includes collaborations with Elisabeth Troy, NAMGAWD, Roméo Testa, Ragga Twins, Rothwell and Reija Lee.

‘Electric Echo’, a collaboration with Fightstar’s Dan Haigh and Alex Westaway’s synthwave side project Gunship, encapsulates the ethos of the album merging the unfamiliar with D&B sensibilities to create a fresh and exciting new sound. We also welcome the return of Elisabeth Troy in 'Chasing Sunrise' and Reija Lee in 'Cadence' making for two powerful vocal highlights on the record. For those of a purist nature, fear not; Metrik’s sophomore album is one hundred percent drum & bass and he hasn’t forgotten about the dancefloor. Bangers like 'Western Jam', 'Fatso' and 'Destination Earth' make up a serious proportion of the album’s generous fifteen tracks and reinforce his status as one of the heaviest producers on the block.

Over the past year Metrik has travelled the world representing drum & bass at major festivals of all denominations; from Glastonbury and Global Gathering to Outlook and EDC Las Vegas. All the while crafting remixes for the likes of DJ Fresh, Ellie Goulding, Gorgon City and Martin Garrix, and collaborating with fellow D&B superstars TC and Netsky. Fans of his UK Dance Chart Top 20 debut 'Universal Language' will find plenty to love here however its Metrik’s devotion to creating a fresh and thrilling strain of drum & bass that stands to bring in a new audience and earmark 'LIFE/THRILLS' for instant classic status.

In 2016 we grew our high-energy club night into a true drum & bass celebration, Hospitality In The Park. The 10,000 strong party drew together DJs, fans, listeners, singers, live acts and MCs together to showcase every shade and style encompassing a 174 heartbeat. As the Finsbury Park fun continues and round two promising even bigger stage takeovers and a myriad of artist weaponry, we present an equally bursting drum & bass double disc, the ‘Hospitality In The Park 2017’ LP.

In the same vein as our all-day summer special, this huge 70 track mash-up spans across a full 360’ perspective of the genre; representing the established, up and coming, soulful, obscure, liquid, innovative, dark, techy, neuro, jungle style and everything in between.

Included are over 25 brand new exclusives from reputable drum & bass titans Danny Byrd, S.P.Y, Makoto and Keeno, there are VIPs from Metrik and Nu:Logic, remixes from Hugh Hardie, Total science, Camo & Krooked and Calibre, and a ‘Bullet Proof’ banger from Krakota.

Across two mixed CDs we’ve drawn for this year’s surefire summer weapons with Fred V & Grafix, The Prototypes, 1991, High Contrast, The Upbeats, Breakage in the mix. With this year’s Incubator stage pulling artists that are rising through the ranks, up and comers’ Whiney, Unglued, GLXY and Kyrist bring exciting new offerings to the compilation.

Both fans and artists came together from all over the globe last year and we expect no less in 2017. Matrix is an artist who embodies diversity, whether that's as part of the Matrix & Futurebound project, garnering over a hundred million streams, scoring a UK Top Ten house single under the Goldtrix pseudonym or through his role as a pioneer of brooding neurofunk alongside his brother and Virus Recordings label owner Optical. One of an elite few producers to have achieved a string of commercial hit records whilst maintaining a position at the forefront of underground drum & bass, Matrix boasts a long history of respect amongst his counterparts.

The first solo release from Matrix in almost a decade, 'Let's Go Back' fuses the raw, uncompromising spirit of his early productions, with the ferocious energy and contemporary standards which have made his cuts with Futurebound so successful. Intense, apocalyptic and expertly crafted, 'Let's Go Back' stands firmly at the cutting edge of drum & bass music in 2019.

Matrix began his career with singles on such legendary labels as Moving Shadow, Metalheadz, Prototype and Hospital Records, before the release of his seminal 'Sleepwalk' album on Virus Recordings -considered by many as a key chapter in the foundations of drum & bass. His own imprint Metro Recordings was also heralded as a defining part of this journey. With early releases from Ed Rush & Optical, DJ Fresh, Dom & Roland and DJ Fierce, it played host to many of the leading names who went on to shape the genre. More recently Metro has become known for it's enduring alliance with Viper Recordings, delivering the immensely successful Matrix & Futurebound partnership.
