The album opens with a Vangelis-like chord, setting the tone for the rest of the play. 808drums and 303 bass-lines traverse Electro, Garage, Trip-hip, after-hours TechnoElectronica, Ambient and...the list goes on. Nøkken closes the LP with a gorgeous Eno-inspired track, featuring field-recordings from the Nøkken itself.

As the night fell he became enchanted by them all, laying amidst the long tall grass he dreamt and pondered of another life. One in less disarray...

Cabasa is set to appear on the first EP from the newly launched imprint, nacht. Based in Leuven, Belgium - nacht has thus far been a small party showcasing diy electronic music from locals and international guests. Now they are set to launch their own record label, channeling sounds which represent the party and their perspectives.

Domenic started making music under his Hutton Drive alias over 20 years ago, releasing on Soma Records and through his own label, Seven Sign Recordings. More recently, his productions have featured on Sub Club’s Nautilus Rising, Verdant Recordings and Alien Communications.

Cappello’s very own Subculture sound is present throughout 'Basement Philosophy', in which he travels through varying sonic textures and moods, to create something which is captivating and potent in equal measure.

Moving from the galactic leads and drum & bass tempo of BufoBufo’s ‘Caloris Basin’ to the dreamy melodies and trip-hop beats of Qeta’s ‘Art II’ , it ends on the expansive, horizon-gazing tones of their collaboration ‘Gloaming’,  all shimmering interwoven bleeps and hefty breaks.

Coming up on May 1: A profound musical package from the Dutch-Turkish artist, Okitap - Sis, is a cultural clash between his Turkish roots and his affinity for industrial, techno, gabber and earnest sonic exploration. EP opener “Cicek Suyu” plays out like Vangelis moved Blade Runner to Istanbul and replaced his Yamaha CS-80 with a Tulum, a traditional bagpipe known to Turkey. It’s dense, dark and intimidating. Luring you in to listen closer. Track 2, “Batarya” haunts and engulfs, breathing down your neck as you press in closer to make out the whispers before “Karsiyaka” punches you in the face. A virulently potent 90s goth sludge groove featuring the slicing Okitap vocals that challenge you to listen up. The EP’s closers “Nefes Al” and “Sis” lul you back out as you crawl away, a canvas for Okitap’s transporting, cinematic sound design adeptness.

Placid aka Paul Wise is chief in command at ‘We’re Going Deep’ – an expanding online community and record label, born from lifelong affair with the many shades of electronic rhythm and obsession for collecting records since 1988. He’s spent the last 3 decades moving heads and feet at venues, parties and fields across the UK and beyond. 
On a mission to share and release new music via his label, you’ll find only the best in Acid, Electro, IDM, Techno and Deep House for the dance floor, front room or your headphones making the cut. For the 10th and final edition of his much prized various artist series, he unearths more machine fuelled magic: offering another set of equally excellent music from stellar talent.
Starting the dance, Dutch maestro Boris Bunnik dons his Versalife mantle to opens with ‘Skirmish 101’. Setting the machines to cycle, Bunnik fires a hefty slab of bass to bring down the walls whilst pristine robot like rhythms set your body in motion, all enveloped with sparse synthesis and shimmering effects. Crashing the joint with ‘Acid Baby’ - The Acid Pimp drops a no holds barred, riotous 303 workout that’s nothing short of a tour de force in exorcising the power of Roland’s most celebrated silver box. Putting pedal to the metal with drums and reverb, a smiley face or grimace is guaranteed!
Longtime collaborators Jamie Anderson & Owain K reset the dial on the flip with ‘Basement Dub’, a house paced workout that glides at a steady pace. Evoking the spirit of Mood II Swing whilst immersed in the depths of an underwater realm. Ending on the upbeat note of Konerytmi’s ‘Aamunkoitto’, the Finnish producer reflects a breezy disposition with a joyful melody, step-to electro beat and rolling acid bassline – all perfectly balanced to keep your calm and head out in the right direction, a great way to sign off on this highly collectable series.

This month's mix is a more high tempo affair, starting at 140bpm and never slowing down. Despite the fast pace, the electro all remains in the deep realms and delves into a more breakbeat / IDM spectrum towards the end. Expect lots of tracks from Plant43 throughout. Enjoy!

Producer and DJ Front Bench spends most of his time behind the scenes of 199, a label and club night he founded in the north of England that has since made its way to London. In the years that followed, he used the platform to showcase a broad range of his own productions, varying between club bangers and melodic home listens, and earning features in Mixmag, Trommel and Houseum. 

Now, with a residency on London-based Aaja Radio and a thriving digital release series both in full swing, Front Bench is dialling in on a refined club sound. Hinging on an electro-tinged take on techno and breaks, he pulls together sounds old and new across dense, rolling sets that combine atmosphere and groove.
