Yuzo Iwata comes to the plate for another episode of ‘Mixed By’. Building from Ambient beginnings, Yuzo shows patience and skill in building his sound over the hour; swimming through his pool of genres past Dancehall, Acid and Trance along the way.

This same skillset is on play across his debut album, Kaizu, which recently dropped on Melbourne's Butter Sessions. Yuzo flexes his sound design muscles across the LP; Balearic textures, broken rhythms and a nod to Japanese video games and eighties fusion, his many influences are expressed with finesse across the full works. For me, Kaizu represents what it really must be like to live inside Yuzo’s head, and what a place it must be!

KRZ es uno de los tantos alias que tiene el dj y productor Milo Schnitman, gran investigador y explorador de géneros que en este set de 2 horas confecciona una cadena de eslabones precisos en donde predomina la espesura. 
Una masa densa que sólo se interrumpe con perilleos que suprimen algunas frecuencias para engrosarlas nuevamente y hacerlas reaparecer con el doble de fuerza. Esta técnica está muy lejos de ser usada demagógicamente como efectismo (no es un mero lanzar drops para generar la locura colectiva) sino que subraya algo que le llama la atención y que quiere compartirnos. 
Componentes alcaloides aparecen con frecuencia y a veces eso que se nos revela como hipnótico es eminentemente minimalista y otras es más un sinónimo del barroquismo propio de una 303. Recurre a un acid polivalente que puede pasar de estar repleto de claves (casi alegre) a uno completamente infrahumano y que apuñala mentes. 
La humanización, si se quiere, nos llega por vía del techno/electro dosmilero y momentos groove ya que hay una dulzura subterránea en su selección, una especie de amor por el oficio que se permite breves intersticios de melodías angelicales adosadas a una idea de porvenir androide y salvífico sin que por eso se vuelva cursi.

Her sound is nurtured by an abundance of different musical interests. Within the last few years, she has been exploring a range of genres. In club contexts, she likes to focus on a deep, dark electro, breakbeat, ebm and techno sound. In moments of calmness, her tunes float between ambient, idm and downtempo.
