jesus heck, when did i even make this bootleg? i think it was back in 2020, some time in early fall or so. it's a p cool song, but that wasn't really why i wanted to remix it.

at the time i was making this, there was a lot going on for me. i think it was around this time that i realized that i wouldn't be able to finish university, aswell as just how badly the pandemic was affecting me. it was a time where i was making a whole bunch of new friends too and had to get used to the idea of being the "new blood" all over again, and a time full of breakdowns and crying for me. it was around the time i finally realized that i couldn't continue like this, and decided to ask for help.

in transitionary periods like those, i tend to focus on trying to calm myself down, looking on the bright side and telling myself everything will be ok. i don't know why but, for some reason, i chose a different approach this time. rather than trying to shut my ears to what could go wrong, i decided to stare my life dead in its eyes, take proper note of what needed fixing and what couldn't continue, and pushed onwards through that. it might not be fun, but no one is gonna fix things if you pretend that everything will just pass.

it's now the end of 2021. i've dropped out of university, i'm in therapy, and i've made some of the best friends i've ever had in these last 2 years. about a week and a half ago i rediscovered this lil bootleg. it's fun to look back at how this lil song's mentality has remained true through everything i've done ever since. and looking forward, there's still way more to come. so have this lil thing near the end of the year, an odd lil thing that somehow dictated my present and probably will dictate my future as well. to everyone who's read this far, thank you for being here <3, let's get through 2022 together!
