Re:Axis & Kohra team up here for a stunning and haunting saunter through the realms of captivating house music. The latest duo to join the MEXA imprint, the boys certainly seem to have their finger on the pulse if the results of the Polar EP are anything to go by.
 
Draped in menace and pulsating hues from start to finish, the title track is first up, and it leads us on a merry dance that’s brimming with smile-inducing delights and more than a fair dose of atmospheric bliss to boot. A true groover from the get-go, this is the sort of canny fare that’ll slay the dancefloor regardless of where it’s allowed to run riot.
 
Vitor Munhoz turns the heat up to 11 on his remix of the latter, whereby the spiky synths and the tech-fuelled palette lend the track a new, glistening sheen. The second of ReAxis & Kohra’s original is ‘’Sensation’’. This time around, the duo opt for a harder edged sound, with a chorus of white noise and some well placed cosmic tinges helping to give this one a sort of cosmic dimension. Culminating the EP is Lauro Viotti, who turns in a stunning remix of ‘’Sensation’’. More downtrodden than its bigger brother, it tugs on the emotions but ultimately lets just the right amount of light to filter in. Another sure fire winner from the MEXA camp, ReAxis & Kohra are most certainly worth keeping an eye on in 2014.

Musical diversity has been the driving force behind Alex Rubio‘s ascension to global notoriety. Hailing from Mexicali, Mexico, he’s championed everything from deep house to nu disco through choice releases on MEXA Records, the label he launched in 2012.

As Rubio, who also runs Cohesive Records, winds down a busy year, he took time out to craft an exclusive Big Shot Guest Mix featuring his disparate signature. Over the span of 16 tracks, he forges a journey featuring gems from Marc Romboy & Stephan Bodzin, Thomas Gandey and Marc Depulse.

“My inspiration for this mix came from winter and what I’ve always liked which is techno,” Rubio says. “It’s smooth at start, then melodic and starts building up into some crazier beats. In this mix you’ll find some forthcoming tracks on Cohesive and a few other favorites of mine. Enjoy.”

The EP includes the original and two extra versions of the original with delicious textured layers that will soothe your ears and take you on a ride. This release also includes 2 remixes. The first by 'Anchor Acres' who recently released a remix on KDB Records and will soon be releasing on Cohesive his own EP. The second remix is by former label members 'Right Jab'. Influenced by groovy techno music and deep house with dark atmospheres, they recreated the original and delivered two versions; 'Vocal Remix' and 'Dub Remix'.
