Nodes From The Underground is a new digital series of releases for exclusive release via Bandcamp only!

In the shadow of “NOTES From The Underground”, the MFF series of vinyl releases back in the day, “Nodes From The Underground” has been started to give our artists a little more breathing space to be creative. No chart concerns, no huge hype - just a chance to release music which is close their hearts.

First up is “A Peak Through The Clouds EP” from label boss, Justin Harris which has a strong echo of the very first releases on the label by Freaks back in the early 2000's.

The title track of this EP, was written mostly during the second part of Lockdown.
Living in Ibiza with his family and having lost their rented flat mid pandemic, after much searching, they managed to find a little apartment in Cala Vadella on the North Eastern corner of the Isle which looks straight onto Es Vedra, a majestic mini mountain of rock just off the coast of the island. Es Vedra is apparently one of the most magnetic places in the world with an energy that can only really be experienced close up. Justin’s composing desk looks directly to the rock and he was inspired to write the track when it was wrapped in a vale of cloud with only the peak showing through…. thus the title.
Sample Heaven, the flip is more of a self-indulgent workout to see how far he could take a set of loops and bring them into one solid lump of cohesive funk.

HCR001 - Adam Collins - Get Me Started EP (Preview)

Year on year Oslo based party starting outfit Det Gode Selskab provide us with a jam packed sampler featuring artists from their collective, family and affiliates of the label, but also welcome a flurry of new artists on board each time. Split into 4 parts spread across the next few months the sampler kicks off with a heavyweight package curated by Jack himself.

Heading up part one is Lazy Pete, label regular Henriku, Rex Ronny, Alm, a return for Philip Hinz, alongside Herman Crantz, and last but not least, Koloniari. The beautiful, deep, house-energy in Lazy Pete's opening track "She's A Replicant (Underground Mix)" sets the stage, before you are hit with the huge drums and peak time action of Henriku's "To The Mountains". Conga time with pulsating bass action. Dreamy synths lead the way in the aptly named "Cheese Police" from Rex Ronny. Hitting the nail on the head is also "Acid House Party '' by Alm, squelchy acid tones breathing life into the housey drum patterns. Let's Jack. Teasing further rave action is Philip Hanz & Herman Crantz with "Stay", a driven outing looking to lift the energy of the floor. Direct house music nostalgia in "Believe In Love", the offering from Koloniari, beautiful keys conversing with the slick motion of the track, classy vocal samples flashing in and out.

This is just the beginning of this enormous sampler, so let's hit the floor and get down to some of Jack's favourites!

A long time ago them Freaks (Luke Solomon & Justin Harris) built a bridge with Chicago. It was a long Freaky bridge that absorbed a whole community of misfits. They joined forces and built a fort under the banner of Music for Freaks.
The fort was built to protect them from the normals - but also a place to build an army of associated miscreants that would slowly begin their attack on the offending world of bland dance music. The army grew and Freaks took to the road ....
