Close Encounters with The Lightspeeder: German Schauss

With dizzying precision and graceful agility, German Schauss takes us on a journey through the outer limits of sound through mind blowing guitar playing and melodic guitar lines soaring through stratospheric heights against the gravity of a rich and complex orchestral score. Using odd and even meters German fuses the classical influences of Bach, Beethoven and Chopin with modern instrumental rock guitar music through epic music structures and lush soundscapes. 
Endorsed by Parker Guitars, Laney Amplifiers, DiMarzio, DR Strings, Maxon, Rocktron, Godlyke, Jim Dunlop, PreSonus, Native Instruments and Morley, German plays clinics and concerts at international music fair and trade shows such as Musikmesse Frankfurt, the NAMM Show. He also performs for nationally and internationally know artists around the world.

As a composer, performer and educator, German is involved in various music projects including his own solo instrumental rock project, teaching at Berklee College of Music and the Los Angeles Music Academy, writing articles and books for major publishing companies such as MelBay and Alfred. He also developed an advanced Rock Guitar course on “Shredding Techniques” for the National Guitar Workshop’s online school “WorkshopLive.com.” 
German writes the popular monthly guitar column "Instant Shredding" in Germany's biggest guitar magazine "Gitarre & Bass." He is a 5 time (2004-2008) recipient of the ASCAP Plu$ Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. The July 2008 Issue of Guitar World Magazine listed German as one of the fastest Guitarist of all time (14 notes per second).

A resident of Los Angeles, German is active in the local music scene as a performer, composer, producer and musical director.

BIOGRAPHY:

Daniel Tompkins is an award winning and innovative British singer / songwriter from Nottinghamshire in The East Midlands. More widely recognised as the singer for TesseracT with his unique live performances and unmistakable dramatic soundscapes on the highly acclaimed albums ‘One’ and 'Polaris'. Since 2009 Daniel has established himself as a highly respected vocalist with a dedicated worldwide fan base. Arguably one of the busiest collaborative vocalists, Daniel’s voice has been celebrated as one of the best in modern progressive rock and metal.
 
Daniel has released a diverse catalogue of records to date and in doing so demonstrated a natural ability to marry his distinct voice to various genres and yet remain in mesmerising control of his audience. However, much more than a recording artist, he is an accomplished performer who has earned a host of awards and honours having toured the world, sharing the stage with artists such as Iron Maiden, Gojira, Lamb of God, Devin Townsend, Meshuggah, Senses Fail, Animals As Leaders, No Use For A Name, Periphery and Protest The Hero
 
Looking to the future Daniel now balances his time between TesseracT and White Moth Black Butterfly and his various collaborations continuing to create a strong impression within the music industry.

Armed with a sound that has been compared to The Faceless, Obscura, Gorod and Augury, Montreal's Beyond Creation put forth technical and progressive death metal, at once pushing the boundaries of aggression and creating catchy, melodic songs. The band draws inspiration from all corners of the scene, from the complex brutality of Necrophagist to the harmonious and rhythmical musicality of Animals As Leaders.

On a high from recent shows in support of well-known acts such as Atheist, Augury, Neuraxis, Revocation, and Martyr, Beyond Creation are receiving a warm welcome from the eager death metal throngs. The launch of the band's 2011 album, 'The Aura', in 2011 on PRC Music has seen the band achieve North American distribution and is solidifying its rising star status.

In the coming months, Beyond Creation is looking forward to several shows in Quebec and elsewhere, including a few official 'The Aura' launch events. The band is also on the lookout for European distribution options and eventual touring opportunities.
