Dear goa and ambient lovers! Unfortunately the summer is over (in Europe at least :p), which calls for a last reminder! I tried to capture the atmosphere I love so much during the summer... A nice breeze, a sundown, music like this in a beautiful country with a magical view!

As label bosses of Lucidflow, Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch are afforded the luxury of dictating their music vision as they wish. This culminated in last year’s Secret Moon, the second studio album of the pairing, focussing on their fluid dub laden house grooves. This year has the other major benefit of being label bosses come in to play, with the Secret Moon remix project seeing friends and inspirations drafted in to contribute.

The remix project has already seen two vinyl editions released, showcasing the remixes from Alexi Delano, D. Diggler and David Alvarado from the first 12”, and Ian Pooley, Weisses Licht and Vince Watson featuring on the second slab of wax. Proving to be a different prospect entirely, the digital edition is a mammoth collection of 19 remixes.

Something Wrong - Darkroom Dubs’ Of Norway turn in a tech-disco workout, with Chris Manura tearing up the rulebook for a smooth drum’n’bass workout.

Secret Moon - fresh from his resoundingly received Live On Cubism Vol 2, Saytek turns in a dark and cavernous reworking, with Alexi Delano providing a lighter and more breathless take.

Universe - Brickman retains Klartraum’s style with a remix that teams punchy kicks and muted dub textures, while Harlem Knights decide to ramp up the emotional impact with rising strings.
Kazantrip - D.Diggler aims to rumble subs with a Live Dub that dominates the low end, while David Alvarado’s touch carries all the menace of an approaching wasp.

Diving Dancer - the experience of Ian Pooley tells with a smooth house re-rub of Diving Dancer, the twanging dub chords driving every beat, while Weisses Licht carve up a downtempo dub moment that caresses and soothes.

Sell Your Soul - Big Al’s touch shifts through phases perfectly, initially light and air, before adding in a blanketing sub-bass. While that offers up a smooth experience, Corrie Loi funks up the beats and turns out some cosmic arpeggio and solo keys. This leaves Trinity & Beyond with a remix that is initially tough and churning, before the clouds part to let the lightness shine through.

Amazonas-Santiago - pattering tuned kicks punctuate Mirza-Zadeh’s remix, letting vocoder vocals add to a harmonic and melodic atmosphere. Choosing to channel the sounds of the rainforest, Riccicomoto works tribal beats and ethnic chanting in his version.

Map Of Truth - electronic maestro Vince Watson turns in a US deep house mix in a departure from his usual style, reminiscent of the San Francisco sound popularised by Charles Webster. UGLH & Lucio Spain appear in a tough and techy guise full of ghostly industrial percussive fx.

Orchidee - end of night cuts don’t come better than G.Pal’s remix, emotional string pads and arpeggios aim for the heartstrings, while The Messenger decides to keep things subtle, playing up the dub atmosphere and glissando solo work.

Over 15 years ago up in Sweden, two young men started experimenting with deep, melody infused techno music. Not looking for fame or glory, but totally focussed on achieving altered stages of consciousness together with their audience, the duo was quickly recognised for their unique style and attitude. First touring the world as Son Kite, later as the well known Minilogue, it's hard find two artists who are more attuned to themselves, each other and their crowd as Marcus and Sebastian. &#13;

After touring and working together for so many years, being taken all over the world and having been part of so many special journeys and experiences, they thought it was time to explore new territories: their inner selves. This journey is one that someone has to make for themselves. As a result, Marcus and Sebastian have decided to put their cooperation as Minilogue on hold, indefinitely, for the time being. Both will be exploring their own inner selves, spiritually and musically. Both still being full on artists, they will be inviting their audiences along on the ride, exploring the depths of the psyche through trance inducing music, but from now on separately, Sebastian performing under his full name Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus choosing for his Nobody Home moniker.&#13;

Minilogue has been a big inspiration for years for everyone at SEKOIA, and the talk we had for our interview (also in DJMag NL) with them surpassed all our expectations of them having both feet on the ground but their heads up the clouds. These are artists that go beyond fame, beyond materialism. It's an honour to be able to host one of their last recordings as a duo, performed on new years day at Drift in Nijmegen.&#13;

“Things don’t tend to change from one moment to the next. It’s a slow and evolving process. You always need a starting point, or a certain frame. Within such a frame, one has total freedom to create whatever they want and you can also pick whatever frame you want (depending on the matters you get in touch with in daily life). Many people are inclined to praise a chosen frame when achieving something beautiful, but to me it’s all about the freedom a certain frame provides me with. And if such a frame is coloured in in its entirety, I don’t want to hold on to it. I’d rather start colouring within a new frame, to gain inspiration for newer and different frames. At this point in time, the frame that is called Minilogue is completely full, which allows me to release it. I might very well return to it at a later moment.” - Sebastian Mullaert &#13;

Another personal favorite is joining the ranks of contributors to the SEKOIA Podcast series. With every album more impressive than the last one, John Tejada’s prolific career has spanned over two decades and is ever on the rise. ‘On the rise’ can be interpreted in multiple ways, but for Tejada success is not measured in touring the most or playing the most gigs. The fact that he’s able to make a living out of making music does it all for him. 

‘Farther and Fainter’, ‘The Living Night’, ‘Unstable Condition’ and of course ‘The End of it All’. And there are still so many classic, memorable tracks made by John Tejada. It’s an honour to have this hour of music coming from his decks. Enjoy. 

‘’That’s just a personal thing, I have a lot of respect for guys that are able to approach producing like a 9 to 5 job, but I don’t want my own music to feel like a job. I’m ok with the idea that all those other things are ‘work’ but I need to have fun making my own music.” - John Tejada.

This podcast is a live recording of Stimming at the ZilpZalp Festival in former East Germany. Wouldn't we rather have a tailor made podcast to put exclusively on our channel? In Stimming's case, the answer is no. His music is best enjoyed live, interacting with the audience's energy.

ZilpZalp was his best and favorite show in 2014, because the people were amazingly nice and friendly and that made him feel comfortable  to experiment to his heart's content. Chances are that you weren't there to witness it, but now you will have the opportunity to relive it for the first time. - C.
