It's hard to describe what happened in this mix. Let's call this the Funk experiment with House /TechHouse/Techno. Material includes both relatively fresh and very ancient, but marvelous compositions. Mix was recorded during a spontaneous dj-set at a private party.
It will be interesting to listen to people with non-standard tastes for club electronic music.

We are excited to welcome Australian artist Moontide to the Earthly Measures family with his truly beautiful EP 'Dreams Within Dreams' including remixes from Kusht and ourselves.

Dreams Within Dreams is built entirely from field recordings captured in churches, temples, and other places of ritual. The EP marks Moontide's use of exclusively analog synthesisers for the drums and melodies, which respond to these recorded environments.

The work explores the acoustic properties of these intentional spaces, their reverbs, silences, and ambient textures. Each track layers these field recordings with analog synthesis, creating compositions that exist somewhere between documentation and interpretation.

Siberian producer and modular synth enthusiast Roman Spin @romanspin unveils his latest sonic exploration: Noise Inspiration EP — a deep and immersive journey through dub techno and ambient textures. The release opens with the title track Noise Inspiration — a raw and emotional dub techno piece built on hypnotic rhythms, swirling echoes, and deep low-end movement. Its followed by Improvisation, a stunning ambient composition filled with evolving soundscapes and atmospheric depth, showcasing Romans intuitive approach to modular synthesis and live experimentation. The EP is beautifully rounded out by three masterful remixes from dub techno heavyweights QLTURA, DeeplyBlack @deeply_black , and Radio Badjay @radiobadjay , each offering their own signature take on the originals — from deep and driving to lush and meditative. A must-listen for fans of deep dub textures, analog warmth, and modular improvisation.

MARIA Die RUHE is an electronic music producer, singer/songwriter and live performer who combines electronic rhythms with original lyrics and improvisations. She delivers Techno based beats — minimal, deep or polyrhythmic — playful and always danceable. By combining her own live songs and productions with a selection of tracks from other artists her vocals alternate between natural and FX — bold, wild, strong yet tender. An unconventional digital sound with analogue voice.

MARIA Die RUHE became infected with the electronic music bug on her first visit to a club in the early noughties. This musical awakening inspired her to dive deep into the scene, and by the late noughties her live vocals could be heard at various after hour parties in the grimy basements of Berlin.

Not content with only singing over foreign beats, she soon realised she also had a hunger for writing and producing her own material too, and so a new chapter in the story of MARIA Die RUHE was born.

Having completed her degree in acting, jazz & arts studies, as well as numerous band projects, she now lives in Leipzig, Germany, and has returned to her steady love of club music, performing her live act across Europe, celebrating with dancers and toasting the ride we call life.

The motivation behind starting the label was to create a platform to release founder’s own music, but also other talented artists. Today Cold Tear Records is a well established label in the dub techno scene and the most active and productive label in Lithuania.

“Kroz dvadesetak godina kopanja za dobrom mi glazbom i stilskog i tehničkog evoluiranja, nakon bezbroj mixeva raznih žanrova i nastojanja da je svaki koliko toliko poseban i da nema previše stvari koje se ponavljaju, taman kada već neko vrijeme nisam imao inspiracije za složiti nešto novo, javila mi se Tena s upitom da napravim mix za TITRACIJU. To mi je dalo volje da se potrudim prokopati po skromnoj kolekciji, probrati 80-setak stvari, te posložiti glazbenu priču i uz jutarnju kavu iz prve snimiti mix na nxs2 setu uz pokoju slatku greškicu. Two years in the making, Future Ruins, TOM And His Computer’s debut album, will be released on Trentemøller’s In My Room label on October 16th. 

As a 20 year veteran of the Copenhagen music scene, Thomas Bertelsen has been releasing music under the sobriquet of TOM And His Computer for five years, merging the newest technologies with the old, while squeezing fresh sounds out of equipment that’s not only obsolete, sometimes it’s barely functioning at all.

“I switch back and forth between the digital and the analog worlds. I’ll utilize old guitar pedals as well as the newest software,” says Thomas Bertelsen, producer behind TOM And His Computer. “It’s never about the gear, though, but rather finding that one little sound that can trigger an idea for an entire track.”

As a teenager he explored the limits of cassette tape machines, eventually assembling a small arsenal of classic noisemakers, ultimately releasing records from the music lab of his dreams. Better yet, he has been able to perform it live, headlining, as well as supporting Massive Attack, and Trentemøller on his European and North American tours.

Future Ruins was also co-produced and mixed by Trentemøller. While previous offerings have taken listeners to the outer boundaries of what can be considered “electronic music,” including nods to dark wave, dream pop, krautrock and modern psych rock, Future Ruins presents those influences in a new way and represents a great leap forward for the Copenhagen based producer.

As with the Playing In The Night EP, Future Ruins once again features vocalist Roxy Jules, this time showcasing the more complex aspects of her talents on four tracks. “It’s the third time Roxy Jules and I have worked together. This time I tried to bring forward the more vulnerable and fragile textures in her voice. It has that dark, northern, Scandinavian  coolness to it, combined with a little optimism, and even a hidden smile comes through. I also explored alternative ways of arranging the songs. I was less worried about finding the obvious chorus and focused more on experimenting with structure.”

The result is a genre-less collection of songs showcasing TOM’s obsession with propelling sounds of the past into the present, and future, combining noise and edginess with his “commitment to fresh ideas with a clear sense of melodies,” according to Clash Magazine. “My tastes are eclectic and I like to flirt with many different sub genres,” says TOM. “The aim was to combine various styles while trying to maintain a common denominator,” which committing to a full-length offered as an opportunity. 

Soundtracks have been a major source of inspiration. “I also use photos, or even the first chapter in a book to generate ideas. They can trigger certain emotions, and bring different feelings to the surface. The challenge is translating that into a recording on a computer workstation, but they offer a great starting point. For this album I’ve used anything from pictures of Ethiopian elephants in the desert, to ancient Mayan statues, or ‘80s Serbian brutalist architecture to get me going.”

As a result, Future Ruins displays many treasures and traits along its arc when listened to in its entirety.
