Matty is a multi-instrumentalist from Consett, Co. Durham. Having cut his teeth in the north east music scene as front man of dream-pop band Holiday in Tokyo, Matty has branched out into his favourite genre, folk-rock. After purchasing a Baritone guitar, Matty fell in love with the Johnny Cash style twang and rich low end of the instrument. Deciding that he didn't want to change the direction of the band, he set up a project that had a greater focus on personal storytelling and melancholic atmosphere.

Sonically, Matty takes his inspirations from bands like Better Oblivion Community Centre and Kiwi Jr, however his biggest songwriting inspiration comes from the early works of Paul Simon and Paul McCartney.
