"tapeworms" is a project by the students of Musikhochschule Lübeck, originally founded by Ilia Viazov and Griogrii Osipov. 

The project represents meet-ups to create short electroacoustic pieces from not predefined material. The material usually is chosen by the participants directly during the meeting and recorded together. Then it is used as the base for an electroacoustic piece. But there are some rules:
1) Only one hour is given for writing a piece
2) All participants use the same material recorded together
3) It is allowed to use only up to 4 tracks in the project 
4) It is not allowed to use additional tracks even for processing
5) It is allowed to pre-render processed material for creating a new clip
6) The only allowed techniques of working with the material are: cutting, gluing, overlapping (cross-fading), fading-in and fading-out of the clips, stretching (but without pitch correction), and volume automatisation.
7) It is not allowed to use pan automatisation: one track = one channel
8) The amount of allowed FX are limited and they can be used only without automatisation and only one of a kind, they are: Filters, Compressors, Saturators (Overdrive, or similar), Reverb. All the possible automatisation are: effect volume (e.g. volume of the wet signal) and bypassing (on/off)

These limitations are inspired by the art of early electronic music that was limited due to the specifics of the used setup with real tape recorders (which usually had only up to 4 channels on which the composer could place the tape), and analog effect processors (which were also limited to a very small amount of analog devices). 

The one hour limitation is only for fun.
