Your hair is sandy, the wind is crisp, the sunroof is down and your favorite song just so happens to play in the background as you think, “I wish life can always feel this way”. This song embodies that indescribable feeling you get when you start to like someone. It’s the kind of crush that makes you embarrassingly smile when you think of them because everything about them is just right. As the song captures the essence of summer with its upbeat tempo, you can't help but dance as ‘Sun Is Going Down’ radiates pure happiness and joy. Summers feel like the season of new beginnings, which is reflective of this next era for Mia Lailani.

This is a conceptual Theatrical Experience where the characters enter and exit the chat rooms (the stage) via transformational dance as they change into their cybersexual costumes. The characters reveal themselves through their cybersexual affairs. The main character of David Wade is based on my traumatic childhood of sexual abuse by an older cousin. David is on the internet seeking the truth from one shady character after another, all relishing in the devious deeds of Catfishing. His abuser is one of these cats... but which one? When David finds them, he ultimately seeks retribution!!! This ultimate game of truth and dare has consequences!

This song is about reflecting on a relationship you had with someone and realizing that they actually weren't benefiting you at all. It makes a reference to when we get so worked up over someone- who in actuality- really doesn't deserve our time or energy. 

I wrote this back in September. It was originally a slower song, and Devan came and put it to a new beat. I think it's really different then anything I've done previously. It's nice to not write a sad love song for once, and actually release something that depicts the opposite of being in love.  

There's no one specific person that this song is about. It's just goes out to all those that fumble the bag. If the shoe fits, please wear it :)

my brother, devan, & i originally had the opportunity to make this song and submit it for the newest fast & furious movie, "Fast X". it was created as an expression of pure adrenaline and devotion to the fast & furious legacy. we submitted the song, but unfortunately, we didn't hear anything back from the ppl working on Fast X. regardless of that, we wanted to put out the song anyway. 

we made our own “fast X” trailer using clips from the actual trailers on youtube, and put our song underneath it. after putting it out, we instantly got great feedback from our audience, confirming the need for this song out in the world. 

“midnight driver” is definitely a different vibe than my usual, but i love it so much.  its funky and the bass is hard. it’s great to create songs about other topics (besides love) and experiment with my sound. the process of creating this song was full of pure joy & excitement, and those are the best emotions to have when creating music. 

we hope you enjoy this as much as we did working on it :)

Midnight Driver

you would assume that this song is based off another person & that its a love song, based off the title and the lyrics. but really, it's a letter to myself; my younger, current, and future self. 

I wrote this song as another way of saying "im gonna make you proud". it's about giving my all and trying my best to make the dreams I have come true. the lyrics in this record, in my opinion, are so clever. "I can't promise you forever, but I can swear on this, I know, I'll give you my all". 

there are a lot of good moments in this song that tell a story. that's also why you hear a throwback audio of little mia (at 2 years old) & my mom as she explains that she's recording the moment so that future mia can look back at it. its a really bittersweet addition to the song that ties together the overall message (if you didn't catch it while listening). I love the placement of it. 

this song truly sets the tone of my mindset starting 2024. im so excited for the journey to come. cheers to doing it for our younger, current, & future selves :)

Do It For You

i'm a big fan of the show, White Lotus, specifically the second season. when i heard this track, i wanted to write from a perspective & life way outside of my own. i thought about Lucia (from White Lotus) and *SPOILER ALERT* when she left Albie & took his money lol. 

i took a little bit of that as inspiration and ran with the idea. it was so much fun to write from a different perspective, and about something i'd never do (im not a gold digger, trust 🤞🏽). this track is also really funky and cool :) 

FUN FACT: i recently had the amazing opportunity to perform in Italy. so.. we took advantage of that & recorded another version of the song where i mention Italy (in the original song i talk about going to Japan, & that version will be on DSPs. but YOU GUYS get the Italy version lol). anyway we shot a video for this song out in Venice. COMING SOON!

this song is a perfect start to the summer. i think we all need a vacation lol. enjoy :)
