Con Crazy Connection, Mauvais Parisien, abre la puerta con un primer corte que no busca agradar: atrapa. El track respira a través de un groove elástico y un bajo de trazo firme que se encadena a percusión microdetallada; cada golpe está colocado para generar esa tensión que, en club, hace mirar al booth. La lead principal entra con un timbre casi conversacional —no brilla, susurra— y la interacción con las capas atmosféricas crea la sensación de que dos ciudades laten a la vez. After unveiling the first installment at Ultra Music Festival in March 2025, Subtronics has fully released his two-part concept album, ‘Fibonacci.’ Known for his giant, genre-bending bass anthems, the Philadelphia DJ, producer and Cyclops Recordings label founder walks us through the making of key tracks from the project in this exclusive commentary. Subtronics shares that the track “Anxious,” inspired by a bad day he had while touring in Europe, channels that feeling into the pure energy of “a true house music song,” adding “I really just wanted to take a proper swing at it.” He’s especially excited about the track “Contour,” which combines “a hauntingly beautiful vocal topline” with a glitchy, super low-end bottom.
