This set was recorded LIVE at The Bounce 2013 on 3 cdj's and a Pioneer mixer WITHOUT the help of any beat sync technology. The crowd was recorded on external condenser microphones and mixed in post production to transport you into that moment, and make the mix feel more alive. 
I would like to thank Steve, Kim, Bryn, Lisa, Coop, Jugoe for the graphics, the whole crew of The Bounce festival, every Artist/musician, the people who made it possible by attending and dancing their asses off, my Tahoe family (you know who you are), and my beautiful Fiance Sarah....sometimes the only bright smiling face in a sea of blurred souls.

Live At Raindance 10 Year Anniversary - 2014

Epic set on the Beach stage at one of the best West Coast festivals, and my all time favorite for sure. The energy at this moment was INCREDIBLE. The stage was bouncing so much that my friend Bass Cadet had to hold my beer cause it kept tipping over. They eventually had to kick people off for fear of it breaking. Really did at that moment define why they call this festival The Bounce.

This is the 2nd Track I ever completed and it was the music for the entire Alaska segment of the ski movie "Jusimi". My friend Ryan Howard (Champagne & Bacon) played the bass on this and another friend played the violin.

Why Not (Flamenco Edit)

My third studio recording inspired by and dedicated to my sister and best friend Kim Herrlein.  I recorded and mastered this at 4am the night before we left for the burn 2007 and had 100 printed copies ready for handout before we left the next evening.  Next time you see me ask me how I came up with the name ;-)

Facing Your Fears Blacked Out and Naked

Once upon a time in a land that is not very far from here but very different from our own, there was a bright-eyed young boy with crate of records and a dream of playing them at Burning Man. He caught a ride in a friends RV with nothing but clothes, a cooler, blankets, and his record bag. His first set on the Playa was an 8 hour marathon set at Green Gorilla Lounge in a RAGING dust storm.

That was 2004 and 11 years later, the record has been shattered…..

This is the first installment of New Years Day, 2016, a 15.5 hour set running the gamut of musical genres from house to breaks, mid tempo to Funk and back again.

I will be releasing this in sections over the next couple of months, so be like Dre and keep an eye out for the next episode.

Bounce Heavy NYE 2016 - Promo mix

This set was recorded at Shakedown, a warehouse party in SF put together by my homegirl Kimba &amp; royal audio productions. My good friend Simple Greene played right before me and was nice enough to record my set as well. Unfortunately "somebody" unplugged me towards the end of my set so this recording doesn't exactly end true to form but we make it work. Thanks to all who helped and thanks to you for listening.

I recorded this in September of 2016 and just found it buried away in a file deep in the bowels of my music collection (december 2017). It was fun being able to warm up the party by starting deep and ending dirty. 
The most memorable part of this party was Jazzmin, my 8mo. old McNab pup (short haired border collie). This was her first outdoor event and se was so excited, that she swept the forest around the party getting people to dance to dad's set. By the end of my time she had rounded almost everybody on to my dance floor.....even some of the gate crew.

It’s a live recording from a party called Soul Lounge that the kids who used to throw REMEDY in SF came up to do one summer.

Strange Cues Radio Hour Vol. 01 -EXPLICIT CONTENT-

This is a live set I performed at Public Works in San Francisco for Brass Tax annual Star Wars party "May The Fourth Be With You: The Empire Strikes Brass". Every sample I used to scratch of or just play was taken from "Empire Strikes Back" except for one.....the very first sample I use in my intro is from "Spaceballs", one of my favorite movies. The reason for this is I was dressed as Barf for the party.......or Barfalomew....enjoy you scruffy looking nerfherders!!

micah j-Live At Brass Tax, May The Fourth Be With You 5-04-13

    Lake Tahoe……….specifically South Lake Tahoe in the summer of 1998 was an amazing time for house music and ALL my friends were into it……so I started collecting hip-hop records, named myself DJ sWiTcH and taught myself how to scratch and mix ANY place I could find a pair of technics. When I finally got a set of my own decks I melted most of my record collection in an unfortunate (yes I cried) ultra violet experiment (the sun in the back of my girlfriends Camaro). I gave in to that wonderful 4 on the floor that kept calling to me and fell in love with Deep House. 

     Just a smidgen of copyright infringement after a record release prompted me to use my real name “micah" and the first initial of my middle name “jason” to form (drumroll please) micah j. For the last 19 years I’ve been collecting deep house, deep and dirty breaks and, in most recent years, an insane amount of ghetto funk, keeping me diverse and ready to rock any festival, nightclub, outdoor or pool party any a you mo fo’s can throw at me (yes that is a dare).

     I could give you a list of my crowning achievements, big acts I’ve opened for, countries I’ve played in, celebrities I’ve f@&%ed……….BUT THAT SHITS BORING. All I’m gonna say is if your partying on my dance floor, get ready for a chunk of dirt sprinkled with funk, making every set a new and exciting experience for the DJ and the dance floor……..engage
