“Roger Allen Baut [b. 1946 - d. 2018], aka Chasing Tao [ https://soundcloud.com/roger-allen-baut ], is a music, art, and written word aficionado. His undergrad is in social studies (Major: Psychology and History with a Minor in Political Science) graduating Cum Laude, with departmental honors, and a member of the Gold Key National Honor Society, in 1989. He received his Master of Science in 1993.

He is also a photographer and developer of 'Contemplative Photographic Art,' as well as the 'triplet' form of poetic expression, which consists of a photograph, poem or prose, and a video, to bring a three-dimensional aspect to the written word. Roger's latest adventure is the 'Blue Sky Highway™' (BSH), an experimental effort, that has been very positively received by listeners on BTR and SoundCloud. It's a journey into sound, that becomes sights and thoughts for the mind! The BSH is designed to be laid-back and relaxing, so that the listener may enter into a greater sense of creativity and contemplation. He says that, 'Through innovative music, writing, vocals, and thought, one may enter into a contemplative state, and thereby, enter into a greater sense of awareness.'

The Creative Nexus Café™ aka Nexus Café was Roger's first internet radio program, which he hosted and produced with Natasha Lynn Head of Ontario, CA., is presently on hiatus, but available in the archives; unfortunately, there are no plans for its return. The café was an innovative, weekly program, that presented a collage of music, poetry, prose, interpretive readings, current events, and interviews, SoundCloud tracks, with a touch of philosophical thought, to enhance and stimulate one's creativity and consciousness.“

AMBIENT | EXPERIMENTAL

the PERSON, the SOUND : Since 1985, Philadelphia-born Michael has composed and released hundreds of audio recordings, and published dozens of [erotic] poems.

His 'sonic-sojourn' began suddenly when he was just a teen -- feet splashing rhythmically through puddles leftover by a seaside rainstorm. Having just parted ways with the then-love-of-his-life, Michael composed his first ballad [and first song] ever -- "Tina." He rushed to his beach-side home to record his visceral 'awakening' on a tiny micro-cassette recorder, and vowed -- from that day on -- to create art for the rest of his life.

He began zealously amassing used music equipment, and had built a modest home recording studio by age seventeen, all the while crafting simple pop, ambient, and experimental works that HE had wanted to listen to -- that HE had wanted to hear, affectionately emulating the works of his then-idols, Duran Duran and Brian Eno.

Now, decades later, he has relocated to a small village outside Atlanta, Georgia, and continues to voraciously attend to his dream as a young, heartbroken boy -- to create and release music that he, himself, wants to hear.

Although no longer sequestered to pop and ambient musics, Michael's signature sound has merged the two, having integrated the R&B, hiphop, and psychedelia he has grown to love as a older gent -- having absorbed the edgy rhythms and dreamy soul of the southern United States (Atlanta and Miami).

Michael still puts forth ample amounts af ambient musics, but his recent 'sound' hovers elsewhere -- somewhere amidst the genres of vaportrap, spacerock, and trip-hop.
