‘Bars with Carts‘ is the brand new exciting mixtape project from DJ Cartier.

The ‘Bars with Carts‘ series is a mixtape with a difference, and puts the emphasis on the MC.

“Most people know by now I love working with MC’s, and to be honest most of them like working with me because we get the best out of each other. What “Bars with Carts” is all about is me letting people hear just how talented some of the UKG MC’s actually are” said Cartier on the concept of the project.

This project will allow the DJ to take the best lyricists in the UKG scene, and show them off over 10 tracks that could be UKG, Grime or even Hip Hop.  This series is not about Cartier on the decks, it is about the MC’s being able to show off their talent for 20 minutes without interruption, and without vocal tracks getting in the way.

“Over the years there has definitely been a perception that its all Olly Olly Olly and When I say whatever you say BO. This will show that this is definitely not the case” added Cartier.

The talented DJ is pulling out all the stops with this project, and has called on the hugely popular Dappa MC to kick things off for volume-1.

“I have started the series off with Dappa as right now he is really on top of his game, he is constantly writing new lyrics and his flow gets better and better” said Cartier.

With future volumes in the series already confimed with Viper, Vapour and Bushkin to name a few, it looks like this has the legs to go very far.

Mikey G, notorious for his hard-hitting, unique sets, is a DJ from Birmingham, now living in Leicester, UK.
Mikey grew up listening to a wide variety of dance music and was heavily influenced by the bass heavy music being played around the midlands. He gained a huge interest in Drum & Bass, Garage and Bassline/Speed Garage. 

Having been to hundreds of dance events, he decided to learn to DJ himself and began honing his skills, and was soon booked to play at local club nights. 

He started playing at various Drum & Bass events around the UK and supported numerous big name DJ’s across the scene. He became interested in ‘Jackin House’ and ‘House & Bass’, new styles of music giving a fresh twist on the Garage tunes he grew up listening to. 

He began DJ’ing at events regularly across the Midlands and as his popularity grew, so did his busy Dj’ing schedule - which is now frequently jam-packed, playing for many various club nights in the D&B and Bass House scene. 

In August 2015 Mikey was asked to play at the closing party at Summerfest, a world leading skydive event in Chicago USA. After delivering a 6hr non-stop marathon set, he didn't disappoint! 

Mikey plays at many events based around the Midlands and has gained residencies at nights including Nostalgia, Toxsikk, Latenight Bass, Lips, Wheel It Up, DNA and Houseproud as well as playing at festivals such as Forbidden Forest & Xstatic. 

He has been asked to guest on numerous radio shows including Demon FM, Radio 2 Funky & Loco London as well as appearing on numerous online live streams especially during the Pandemic where he regularly kept fans entertained with his own mixes and guest appearances. 

Mikey regularly posts live mixes on his Soundcloud page which have gained a large world-wide audience and are eagerly anticipated by many. 

His recent Collateral Damage mix series has had a huge response and he has now introduced his Mikey G & Friends mix series where he will be inviting top Drum and Bass MC's to feature on his mixes. 

He ensures any mix or live set he does has lots of energy and ground-shaking bass to keep the crowd dancing from start to finish.
