Nino Rota - Romeo And Juliet

Michael S. is also new to our class. But his emotionalism while playing impressed us really quickly! Here are is one of most sad Chopin piece...the famous nocturne no.20. Enjoy!

Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet, composed by Nino Rota for Franco Zeffirelli's film in 1968. The song based on this theme is called "What Is A Youth" in the album.

This has been covered so many times, as an instrumental by Henry Mancini in 1969, and as a song called "A Time For Us" by numerous artists. Lana Del Rey also did a very nice cover with a different chorus called "Old Money" in her album "Ultraviolence".

The instrument is a Kawai VPC1 controlling a Nord Stage 2, using a Bösendorfer sampled grand piano with some delay effect, sampled mandola and orchestra strings.

Small piano piece with repetitive chords on the left hand and some dissonances for a bitter-sweet mood. It reminds me of some sunsets in the countryside.

22 Dec i've had a concert for the closing ceremony of the Antinoo's exhibition at NMA, in Athens.
Performed the 3 compositions of Antinoos's album and 2 new unpublished pieces with lyrics by Pessoa.

Serenade Schubert Violin & Cello

Bit of olde worlde piano solo which would make a suitable soundtrack for a Radio 4 classic drama. Something melodramatic by Ibsen or Flaubert I imagine. Ok yes its not strictly a piano solo. A string orchestra and choir do appear but don't do much other than turn up. Here is the clever bit - its an acoustic version of one of my archive set.  But which one?  Haha, that's for me to know and you to not really give a damn about. Hey! Someone get that harpsichord out of here.
