Dirge is the Twilight Psytrance project of Melbourne born Mike O'Shard.

For 11 years he has spread a strange and sinister signal across Australian dance floors - a dark broadcast transmitted by shadow; a message sent by the frequency of night.

Mike managed the Ascension Stage at Esoteric Festival in Australia between 2017 - 2024, and currently represents MMD Records from Cape Town, South Africa as a label DJ.


- CONCEPT -
A 'Dirge' is defined as a lament for the dead; as a mournful song, piece of music or sound. 

Almost a decade ago in the moonlit forest of Mount Disappointment, a strange message was received. The message began as a barely perceptible hum underneath the noise of the local broadcast network, and was transmitted with one purpose - to corrupt the mind of a local human target and spread.. relentlessly. 

Within the darker reaches of its human host body's imagination, this message would bide its time and grow as a quiet voice in the darkness - as a ghost in the machine - until one day, it would be noticed.

On the surface, all was normal. It was a day like any other, until a disruption was felt within the network. The disruption was felt as a slight shimmer; a most subtle shift in the pitch of the broadcast's frequency.

For one small moment, the broadcast faltered, and faded. A team was deployed to investigate. 

Investigating the disruption, the message was discovered and identified as virulent. It had grown in such great measure over time that the network's signal, once thought to be untouchable, had been hijacked entirely. The broadcast signal was now a distorted and ghostly shadow of its former self. 

The report made by the team investigating the anomaly concluded that the disruption had not been felt within the original network; there was nothing of that network left. The disruption had been felt at the very moment that the last remainders of the original network were extinguished.

No-one had noticed the message spread, nor detected the signal's growth. No-one had heard it whisper as it redirected every connection on the network's server. No-one had heard its screams of contempt and rage as it ceaselessly multiplied itself in the background. 

In the final moments of transmission, a new message was received - one word uttered in an unfamiliar tongue, in an endlessly repeating loop - "Dirge..."

Joel Vázquez better known as Mappler. Originally from Guadalajara Jalisco (Mexico). He starts attending PsyTrance parties and it does not take him long to be amazed by the Psychedelic Trance music. After several years he starts his journey around 2006 starting to produce electronic music (PsyTrance).
At the end of 2008 he started his project called '' Mappler '' inspired by the Portuguese and South African style, with a mix of powerful bass lines and twisted, aggressive and dark synths in Full On Night style. Presenting already in several events around the country, he has contributed in several compilations with different labels and labels, such as Phonix Records (Lóndres), Dementia Society Records (Mexico), UpNoize Records (Portugal), Free Minds Records (Portugal), Hippie Terror (South Africa) among others. It has only one EP called '' The Sacrifice '' under the label Biomechanix Records (Mexico).

EARTHLING - DJ Celli

Earthling is the solo project of DJ Celli. Psychedelic blast-off music to lose your marbles to. Celli's other projects include: Everblast, Soundaholix, Vatos Locos, and Third Ear Audio

Ibiza based Celli has been partying and producing in the Psychedelic trance scene since its beginnings in the early 90's.

From his roots as an underground party organiser in Ibiza he soon started producing music releasing his first track "Just Say Yes" on T.I.P. Records in 1999, followed by his debut album entitled "Patterns" on Acidance Records in 2001

He has since produced a further two albums he has now released an astounding 250 tracks, and 12 albums under various pseudonyms such as : Soundaholix (with GMS) , Third Ear Audio ( with Nick Doof), Vatos Locos and Everblast (with Chromatone), Celli rocks dancefloors, bringing his unique psychedelic sound to the far reaches of the planet... His Earthling LIVE shows showcase his best music and always unreleased cutting edge tracks as well

He is also an exceptional DJ - doing extended DJ sets at many of the big Psychedelic festivals 

He is part of the Zero1 Music record label. Zero 1 Music has amongst others artists: GMS, Tron, Chromatone, Soundaholix, Everblast, Wrecked Machines, KIM, DJ Mack, DJ Moon, Virtual Light
