From the moment my father would turn on the radio during my mother’s pregnancy, music has been an integral part of my life. Growing up in Queens, NY, I learned early on that creativity often flourishes in the face of challenges. While my parents kept my sister and me indoors for safety, my father nurtured my passion for music by teaching me the art of mixtape creation using vinyl, cassettes, and CDs from his extensive collection. This foundation ignited my journey into DJing at family gatherings, school events, and block parties from a young age.

In 2000, I moved to Dallas, TX, at the age of 12, where my father gifted me a music production program called "Acid Pro." This pivotal moment allowed me to explore mash-ups, remixes, and beat making, further refining my skills. Since then, I have gained recognition in the West Indian community for my numerous CD releases and innovative sound.

Today, I am a sought-after DJ, performing at various events, including Dallas' hottest venues, pop-up shops, celebrity gatherings, private parties, and Carnival fetes. My mission is to keep my audience engaged and dancing with fresh remixes, mash-ups, and updates on my upcoming gigs.

The one and only, @DJTuro! Hailing out of Dallas, TX, he’s been DJ’ing over 20 years. He started at the age of 14 when one of his neighbors would sneak him in the house and let him practice on her brother’s turntables. He took a small break when he enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 but never stopped collecting music. Once he got back from his deployment in Iraq, he knew the only way to assimilate back to normality was to continue his dream and restarted his DJ endeavors at the age of 22. 

DJ Turo quickly rose and spent 4 years on a community radio station in Dallas, TX and other main stream radio stations. He’s opened for A-List Country Artist’s like Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum and Luke Bryan to name a few, and has also opened for almost every major Tejano artist. True to his native Tejano roots, DJ Turo is able to blend a large variety of genres from Country to Tejano, Tropical to Top 40, Cumbia to Hip Hop, Old School to New School and everything in between. 

Whether it’s a small get together to a stadium concert, DJ Turo has experienced it and will be able to handle it all. DJ Turo has also amassed hundreds of hours of community service work in the City of Dallas and is willing to continue giving back to his community.
