Throwback Thursday for this song. Recorded around 2006, this doesn't use any software instruments. While I do have the original recorded tracks I no longer own all of the synthesizers used to create this piece. In particular there is an elusive FS1R in use for the opening pad as well as a Motif ES for an arpeggio. The rest of the instruments include a Kurzweil K2600, Roland MKS-70 and JD-990 all of which I still own. Last but not least this was recorded on an mLAN based rig - firewire audio networking of the future. I think I had the only working rig in the USA, it was cool when it worked.

I wanted to do a track that was comprised only of sounds from the Casio CT-X700; additional processing was done in Steinberg Cubase. The 700 doesn't have a pitch bend wheel or a filter that you can tweak; I programmed those elements in Cubase.

Away Again

I improvised this track using the Audio Recorder feature of the Casio PX-560M Stage Piano, recording it to a thumb drive. I played the song back from the Casio into an SSL2+ audio interface into Steinberg Cubase for further processing and mixing.
