MODst has had a love for music for as long as he can remember.  From a young age he was inspired by a variety of musical styles like pop, rock, jazz, classical and r&b.  Beginning in middle school, he began to experiment with different musical instruments like trumpet, clarinet, and even the harmonica!  After always getting in trouble with his teachers by drumming on his desk, he decided to give playing the drums a try.  What a perfect fit!  He continued to play drums throughout high school in band, even joining a jazz band and steel drum band.  

In 2010 while at a night club in Las Vegas, he discovered electronic music.  This opened the flood gates of an entirely new type of music that perfectly merged his love for both melody and beats!  By 2013 he decided to give DJing a try as a way to listen and interact with music in the “hands on” way in which he was already familiar.  The last decade plus has been a whirlwind of music discovery which has taken him to many music festivals and events around the world including meccas like Miami, Ibiza, Burning Man, and Colombia. 

This diversity of musical exposure finds it’s way into Dustin’s (MODst) mixing style.  His sets are uplifting, energetic, melodic, sexy, and fun, calling on music from various decades, genres and moods.  You’ll surely hear familiar melodic and vocal elements throughout his sets.  Some of his favorite genres are varieties of house music (melodic, afro, latin, organic, tribal, deep), and more commercially popular sounds like pop, r&b, reggaeton, and afrobeats. 

Currently, MODst plays in various venues in Colombia including Salon Amador and Deep in Medellin and Antro and Clandestino in Bogota.  In addition he holds DJ residencies at various upscale venues in the Scottsdale, AZ area such as Global Ambassador, Toca Madera, Cala, Sushi Roku, LifeTime Athletic Biltmore Beach Club, and Walter Productions Venues.

He has achieved success in his career, including releases on Basscon and NRG Records, reaching the 43rd spot on the Worldwide Techno charts, and placing in the top 10 of Beatport's Electro and Hype charts with three different releases.
