"Minor Turns" is an original composition by tenor saxophonist/flutist Bob Franceschini and the sixth track on vibraphonist Mark Sherman's new CD "Project Them."

Out October 15, 2013 on Miles High Records.

"Project Them" features Sherman with Franceschini on tenor sax/flute, Mitchel Forman on piano and Hammond B3 organ, Martin Gjakonovoski on bass and Adam Nussbaum on drums. Pianist Paolo di Sabatino plays instead of Mitchel Forman on several tracks, though not this one.

Minor Turns - Project Them

"Belief" is the opening track on drummer Tarun Balani's new CD of all original compositions "Sacred World."

Recorded in August 2012, in Mumbai, India, the CD is set for American release on October 22nd.

Featuring Balani with Sharik Hasan on piano, Bruno Reberg on bass, Aditya Balani on guitar and Suhail Yusuf Khan on sarangi and vocals.

"Turn It Up" features Coelho reunited with trio mates guitarist Derek DiCenzo and drummer Reggie Jackson.

A nice little intermittent number - Justin Thomas holds down the rhythm on his vibraphone, allowing Makaya run around the kit a bit, wild and busy but delicately touched.  Somehow they hit the ground running alongside Junius Paul's spazz out bass line, and when they steady the groove, Marquis Hill adds a trumpet beat to the whole polyrhythmic affair.  A fine example of the improvisational style, the signature rhythmic development, that's come to define Spontaneous Composition in the vault.

Select tracks feature Matt DeChamplain on piano and Adam Cote on bass. Electric guitarist Lee Dynes and tenor saxophonist Kris Jensen join in for one track.

Circle In A Square - Lauren Kinhan

"Some Kinda Mean" was originally composed by Keter Betts and made its first recorded appearance on his fellow bassist Sam Jones' 1960 album, "The Soul Society." Guitarist Joshua Breakstone covers it on his new CD, "With the Wind and the Rain."

Out January 21, 2014 on Capri Records, the CD features Breakstone with Lisle Atkinson on bass, Eliot Zigmund on drums, and Mike Richmond contributing cello to select tracks.

"Long Road Home - The Song That Sings You Here" is the final track from vocalist Chris McNulty's CD "The Song That Sings You Here." 

Says McNulty, “This recording, the tune selections, my two compositions and the treatment concept, all took place before my beautiful beloved and cherished son, Sam departed this world (July 16th, 2011). Nothing has been changed or altered in any way. My composition “Long Road Home – The Song that Sings You Here” was completed in 2008. The title for this recording was chosen in 2010. As I listen back now, it strikes me that much of this album sounds like it was conceived after Sam left us. I have no explanation for this except to say that every song I sing, I sing for him. I sing him here, always.” 

Featuring bassist Ugonna Okegwo, drummer Marcus Gilmore, guitarist Paul Bollenback, pianist Andrei Kondokov, tenor and soprano saxophonist Igor Butman and pianist and Rhodes player Graham Wood.
