Presenting a live improvised performance from the Argentinian producer and multi-instrumental live looper, Janax Pacha. Spearheaded by Gabriel Epstein, the Janax Pacha project sits at the crossroads of acoustic and electronic expression, utilising instruments such as Native flutes, kalimbas, didgeridoo, percussion, and effect racks. The resulting tribal downtempo sound is inspired as much from dub and ambient music, as it is by ancestral indigenous music of Latin America, building layers upon layers of sound, and compounding numerous centuries of culture into one experience.

The legend of South America's music is one of vibrant rhythms, passionate melodies, and diverse cultural influences. It's is a celebration of life. The music is also shaped by its indigenous roots, with traditional instruments like the charango, quena, and bombo adding unique textures to it. 
It is said that the music originated from the indigenous people of the Andes, who used it as a way to express their culture and traditions. The legend goes that the music was inspired by the natural sounds of the Andean landscape, including the wind, the rain, and the flowing rivers.

One of the most famous Andean instruments is the pan flute, which is said to have been created by the god Wiracocha. According to legend, Wiracocha made the first pan flute out of the bones of his dead children, and the music that came from it was so beautiful that it could bring the dead back to life.

Today, Andean music is still celebrated and enjoyed throughout South America and beyond. Its haunting melodies and intricate rhythms continue to captivate listeners and serve as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of the Andean people. Especially because the music continues to thrive, with new generations of artists blending traditional sounds with modern influences to create exciting new styles. Welcome to Folktronica / Electrocumbia.

Landing back in Germany, my heart and spirit are asking directly again for South and Central America. So I felt I have to share the beautiful vibe of the music which inspired me a lot while traveling through so many countries. It's a beautiful downtempo journey which I hope will sweeten up your upcoming summer! Enjoy the sun on your skin, move your hips or just relax in your hammock, drinking a fresh coconut, smelling the unique copal or palo santo - a reminder for the magnificent • leyenda • of these sacred lands.

yesterday i felt a bit off, i struggle with cold/flu/fever for a week now, it’s on and off , so i decided to keep my set slow under 99bpm all the way at Papaya People. This healing chant came through during a magical live looping session on a beautiful sunny day on the magical lands of Saltspring Island. I was processing loss and letting go, seeking for forgiveness and peace of heart and mind and AHINA came through as a powerful mantra to open our hearts and be present and ok with what is. To embrace it fully and to trust that a new beginning and more aligned path is on the horizon. 

So I hope you can feel the magical energies of this sacred land and that this journey helps you to let go of what no longer resonates and to love yourself and embrace change with trust facing the unknown guided by your inner voice.

 432 Hz – The Heart of Harmony
You’ve likely heard this described as the “natural tuning” or “cosmic frequency.” When you feel called to 432 Hz, it usually means your energetic system is craving coherence with nature, the Earth, and the universal rhythm.

432 Hz resonates with the solar plexus and heart chakras, fostering emotional balance, openness, and authenticity.
It aligns mathematically with the vibration of celestial bodies and the Schumann Resonance (7.83 Hz), connecting body, mind, and Earth.


 C# (C♯3 ≈ 136.1 Hz) – The OM Frequency

136.1 Hz is the frequency of the Earth year (sidereal), linked to the rotation of Earth around the sun.
It is known as the “OM” frequency, and in many traditions, this is the tone that resonates at the core of spiritual chanting and meditation.
C# in 432 Hz tuning aligns naturally with this frequency—making it incredibly stabilizing, heart-opening, and grounding.
In Indian classical music, this tone is associated with Sadja (Sa), the root note of the scale—the primordial sound. So your voice is literally attuning to the cosmic root.
